Thank you Ford for leveraging cruise control to force folks to spend thousands on unwanted upgrades just for this simple option.
Thank you Ford for making it cheap and easy to diy, without paying "extra" for it.

I’m reasonably sure that Ford didn’t intentionally make this an easy process. More like a happy accident that it’s not more complicated and expensive. FORScan isn’t a Ford product—and the upgrade wouldn’t be possible without it. That said, I appreciate Ford selling the buttons and not attempting to block FORScan. Had they wanted to make it easy, they could have simple offered it as a $100 option, and/or allowed dealers to install it.

So, yes, Ford absolutely used cruise control as a way to differentiate the XL trim, in hopes of pushing people to the more profitable trims. I’m guessing that there aren’t enough of us adding it to our XLs to bother Ford, though. I bought my XL before I knew that I could add CC, so they didn’t miss out selling an XLT to me.

thanks for the info. Now we are getting way above my pay grade as I’m not sure I can figure out the codes from scratch but I’ll do some research and see what I can do. Thanks for your help. If anyone else knows the codes, I would appreciate having them.
The codes for the non adaptive CC switches put on my XL hybrid were:

SCCM724-02-01125848203030
BdyCM726-04-05CB2881418873
ABS760-03-02020000000573

Hope this helps!

Unfortunately that didn’t work either. Still getting the error - electric power status error.

I work with a company that manufactures electronics. I would be shocked if the Ford engineers aren't only aware of Forscan, but follow things like this and allow them to exist. Our Chief engineer pays attention to modding communities, and could easily send a cease and desist, or change firmware coding regularly to break the mods. It would just be an expense to try and stop it, and there is a cost / benefit analysis with minimal return. I would bet less than 1% of Ford owners do anything like this, so it isn't worth the effort and expense to try to shut it down. I would imagine they have pretty solid margins on things like the switches too, probably are just a few dollars to manufacture. I lol at people who worry Ford will see these threads and suddenly invest time and money to stop mods that are maybe done on 20-30k vehicles out of millions a year sold.

The aim of this thread to collect all the information here.
https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...-with-forscan-and-escape-steering-wheel.7287/

Big thanks to @Tyvemattis for first figuring this out.

The steps are as follows first you will need either a steering wheel with the LH cruise control switch paired with the correct RH steering wheel switch. the following steering wheels will work.
2020 - 2023 Escape
2020 - 2023 Explorer
2021 - 2023 Bronco Sport

edit
@Mas280 has confirmed a 2020 or newer Ford Transit steering wheel is the same as a Maverick.

or any 2022 Maverick steering wheel on the higher level trims XLT and Lariat that have the switches.

If you want to keep your existing steering wheel then the part numbers for the switches to replace the stock XL switches are
LH Switch
part# SW8579

RH Switch
part# SW8576

Next post is about the actually disassembly and assembly of the steering wheel.
Hello, can someone from this group who has successfully installed CC help me set it up on my Mav too please. I have bought the buttons and the OBD cable so will need a bit of guidance on putting the button on the steering wheel and of course with ForScan. I will compensate you for your time and we can perhaps run this through FaceTime or zoom. Thanks!

Yes, read through the threads. The above codes should work for your. Also, remember to enable the cruise control through the system as well. I knew nothing about programming vehicles and it worked great for me. You can do it. I changed out the switches for the correct ones and everything is working to perfection. Thanks for everyone’s help.

The switches are the easy part. I still can't even enter the license and activation codes. It won't allow me to for some reason. Is there anybody in the Keene NH, Brattleboro Vt, or Northampton Ma area that can do this for me. For a.......

Make a short video of what you are trying but not having success. Maybe then we can see where the issue is.
