I'm really going to try to find one I can test drive before I commit the ordering one

Just want to shoot it to you straight, you aren’t gonna find a hybrid mav at a dealer lot to test drive, the odds are ridiculously low that you’ll get the chance to test one before someone has already bought it from a canceled retail order sight unseen.

Like others have said, your best bet is to try to find a hybrid escape 2021 or 2022 model, it'll be as close as you’ll get.

Or find a friendly owner in your area and buy them lunch and see if they’ll let you take theirs for a spin.

I've read the Hybrid reviews I've read the problems they have with them too breaking at slow speeds lighten up Francis. Glowing catalytic converter, what else should I know about, idle going up and down what else

My Hybrid XLT now has 3k miles on it. It's the best thing since sliced bread.

It cruises fine at 79. Engine isn't that loud at all. On a trip to Denver and back, 440 miles one way, I got over 37 at 79 with the cruise on. eCVT was flawless, excellent driving experience all around. When driving I don't really know when it switches from electric to engine and back. It's flawless. The only time I know the engine cuts in is sitting still at a light or in park, sometimes at low speed but at low speed it's probably on electric anyway. I just get in and drive. I get 44+ driving around town and that includes some interstate driving. I had no problems with the braking. I had that nailed by the time I got home from the dealership but all cars are a little different in braking, you get it sorted out quickly. I can get on the interstates with no problem. Usually I'm stuck behind people who think it's normal to enter the interstate at 50. Drives me crazy!

I've actually been shocked how seamless everything works together.

I think it's great. I don't understand why people make such a big deal about how CVTs drive/feel vs a traditional automatic. It just... goes. In my lariat hybrid you barely even notice the engine unless you gun it

Agreed. I step on the gas to go and it goes. I don't know how the CVT works and I don't care. What I do care about is that the truck gets up to speed quickly and it does it with good gas mileage.

Planetary Gearset Trivia: The planetary gearset is-was used in the C-130 Hercules I flew for two decades. In that installation it handled 4,300 HP from the Allison engines with high reliability. Although a friend did have one disintegrate in flight over the Atlantic. The gearbox seized and the propellers separated and took out several engines (and went through the fuselage). He barely made it back intact to land in Boston. The wing caught fire and melted through shortly after he landed.

have you driven a Maverick hybrid? Wondering how it feels when driving it when you lay into it to pass somebody how it feels breaking I'm trying to find one to test drive but there impossible to find

I don’t have a Maverick yet, but my wife has a hybrid RAV4, and I can describe it in two words: Smooth power. Ford and Toyota cross-license a lot of hybrid technology, and the RAV4 has a very similar eCVT.
