Flat towing the maverick hybrid behind an RV?

Can any of the hybrid maverick’s be flat towed behind an rv and would you advise it? We have ordered a Lariat. Now we have been told it can’t be flat towed. Help, Thanks!

Yes, but because of how the transmission works you need to pull over occasionally (6 hours) and let the Maverick move on its own for a couple minutes. Otherwise the transmission cooks and you've just opted in to an expensive repair probably not covered by a warranty.

Yup. 2024 XLT Hybrid. Max towing speed according to Ford: 70mph.

The 2025 Hybrid Mavericks can NOT be flat towed because Ford is building ALL hybrids with "all wheel drive" starting in 2025. Only hybrids with front wheel drive can be flat towed.

Well that stinks that’s the only reason we bought the Maverick hybrid. Glad we won’t be buying any more vehicles anyway.

That doesn't jive with the Ford website. Build and Price of the 2025 shows both the FWD and AWD hybrids.

The 2025 hybrid is either fwd or 4wd. They are not all 4wd.

I stand partially corrected. We were only interested in the Lariat trim level and had not checked the lower hybrid trim levels for flat towing. The 2024 Lariat appealed to us because it has keyless start so while flat towing we would not need to leave a key in the ignition. The Lariat trim level for 2025 is no longer available with FWD so we purchased a 2024 Lariat hybrid that a dealer had ordered with FWD. Thanks to all who corrected me!

As reported on this forum 2025 awd hybrid IS flat towable. I've yet to see that in print by Ford in thier website.

I'm not going to doubt you, but where did you get your information? Are you a Ford employee? The instructions state run for 30 minutes or drive it. If over heating the transmission is a reason then Ford should include it in the manuals instructions for sure. I would say that's a pretty major discrepancy. Because they clearly say it's to charge the battery.
