1. Speed, takes 2 min to attach/unattach for flat tow.
2. Space. Many places i camp barely have room for parking/storing a tow dolly let alone a car trailer.
3. Wieght, trailer is more wieght to haul, subtracts from weight for other stuff.
4. Maintance. Trailer is something else that needs...
Last trip i added basic $33 harbor freight magnetic tail lights, runs off 4 pin, but you could try a 7 to 4 adapter for another $13. I did additionally secure the lights w wireties but they ready didn't move.

I just added lights to the bike rack on my 2022, didn't even think to try it on the truck 4 pin plug because i figured the truck lights dont work, why should trailer, but now i wonder. For the flat tow lights i did the blue ox add a light, where you drill a hole in the taillight housing and...
Btw whatever you pick, there is probably a least one write up on this forum on installing, usually more. Usually with some add on posts from folks discussing various aspects.
Im happy with rvi brake shadow. Plug it in, check the tablet and you're good to go. I've put a few thousand miles on it and no problems. I do pull the main fuse when not using to prevent the dreaded battery saver mode.
I'd image if folks load crickets and other mini golf carts into suv then back of a maverick should be easy. Either folding ramps mentioned earlier or like this ramp I've used in full size trucks to load dirt bikes and lawn tractors...
Master Blaster, i get your concerns. However flat towing, and the addition of the flat tow base plates is not unique to mavericks. Though actual numbers are hard to find, according to RVIA 11.2 million rvs in usa, 15% or so motorhomes. The slippery part is how many flat tow? And this is rough...
A sticky is a thread with particularly helpful info, that is permanently at the top of a forum.
Since many people like me have read and followed those instructions, I'd think we'd heard if this didn't work for the majority of the people.
Ive put a few thousand miles on my 22 lariat, and like Steve i always lock the doors. In fact if you look at the sticky 'flat tow setup instructions' it has a checklist many of its have followed that includes locking doors
Sorry for the late reply, I've had no issues with the system. I have the tablet and really like the ability to see what's going on, especially the charging portion. One thing I will say is i pull the main fuse when not using the system to reduce the dreaded 'remote services disable to preserve...

The brake controller in the TOAD should be connected to the TOAD 12v battery. As Yetiman said above the brake controller itself can draw 20 amp or more intermittently. HOWEVER the 12v charge line from the motorhome is to top off the battery, not to run the brake controller, it doesn't or...
the issue isn't having the charge line its that the OP is blowing 10 and 15 amp fuses, thats 180watts! my entire brake controller is fused for 15 amps. somewhere you have a major draw. All that charge line should be doing is trickle charging the battery. Maybe somehow the brake controller is...
Another option for permanent installed brake systems is the rvibrake shadow. It's got the brakeaway switch and charge line integrated. I got the option with the tablet display in the cab. I didn't price it out against the Demco, considering you'd need to buy the breakaway and charge line...
Is the smell like burning rubber? I've read people blame that the rubber particles thrown up from road surface and landing on exhaust. Then when you start the truck it burns it off. When I dolly towed I had a master tow dolly which has a large base, unlike say an ez-haul or roadmaster that's...
