Ford's allocation system and lack of visibility is another reason I call attention to it. I'm really hoping that Ford's management is working on changing the way it does their customer order system because it clearly is not winning long term customers! What is shocking and worrisome is that Ford has already gone through with the Bronco and is gearing up the F150 Lightning with no apparent changes to their allocation process! It really seems that Ford is just trying to weather the supply shortages storm thinking that once supply production returns to pre-pandemic levels all will be good and folks will only wait a few weeks instead of months or years! In the meantime customers are leaving because of the long wait or won't return in the future when considering a new vehicle because of this experience.
I can’t help but feel I’m mixed up in some kind of scam between Ford and it’s dealers. Ford won’t communicate directly with their customers, now with the huge dealer mark ups it’s really no
longer in the dealers interest to communicate with the long haul order customer either. If these customers give up and walk away it’s in the dealers best interest to put these orders on the lot for 5-10k markup. I’m a July 8th confirmed order. Chapman has basically began to give me a shoulder shrug when I reach out. I’ve only bugged them 3-4 times since July so it’s not like I’m being crazy.

Delzona,a couple weeks back someone said they contacted two Ford execs by email and they got the ball rolling for them. Did you try that ? I am sorry, but I can’t remember their names.

Order on 10-18-21 still no word even with priorty code of 12
12? So your dealer is actually using the priority code at the dealership? If so, looks like there are 2 people ahead of you at your dealership. (Have no clue, but the only reason I could see a priority level of 12.)

You're right, I forgot about that! I'll have to research the forum to see if I can find that thread again. Thanks for the reminder. 😁

I'm right there with you. I gave Ford the benefit of the doubt up until now. I realize the hybrid ramp took longer than expected, there are material shortages and realistically Chapman had a large backlog of orders ahead of me. To now see that the entire reservation/ordering process didn't mean jacksh*t when it comes to scheduling is what is so infuriating. My previous truck was totaled in September and I regret not buying something off the lot then, but was lead to believe it would only be a few more months of waiting. When I finally asked for some clarity from Chapman last night, this is the BS non-answer response I got...

"Ford does not schedule orders in any set format. They do not tell us who they will be choosing for production or specially what could be holding up someone’s build. The maverick scheduling is very similar to Bronco scheduling in that manner. We have a lot of customers in the same boat and it is very frustrating that Ford does not give us any answer as to why that is. We still have allocation and have mavericks being pulled every couple of weeks. So there is still opportunity for 2022."

The only call I got yesterday, was from my dealer to inform me, that if I kept the toolbox on my order, I would never see my Maverick.
Interesting, I forgot I added a driver's side tool box to my order. Definitely not needed, just wanted. Haven't heard anything from my dealer about it. I may never see it anyway since my dealer has 300 orders and have only delivered 12.

Can you even drop a SIBL from a First Edition?
They told me that you could have the dealer install a drop in bed liner instead. I called my dealer and they said that the could do that or have one sprayed in locally. I told him I would think about it. It could be just setting there waiting for the materials to spray it in.

That's the first I've heard of someone who has a SIBL in a package that could remove it. That will be a good option for many.

At this point, it's become almost personal for me. Many fellow members know of my story but in short, dealer tried to preemptively condition me to a $5K markup before my vehicle had even gone into production. I put up 2 negative reviews detailing my interactions with them and emailed the auto group the dealership belongs to. They called me a few weeks later saying my online activities were hurting their business and they got a call from corporate. I honestly don't know if a bad review could have had such an effect, or if fellow members decided to bombard the dealership on my behalf with the threat of a social media campaign against them, but they were pretty spooked. I also wonder if it was as @Delzona said, and Ford Marketing monitors these forums and saw my post. I decided I would extend an olive branch and remove those reviews and asked members to halt any attacks on them. I also let them know I would use these same tools at my disposal if I did not get the desired results when it comes time to put pen to paper.

I refuse to let scumbag dealers win. They might make a few more thousand on my vehicle if I walk away, but as they say, they may have won this battle, but they're going to lose the war.

So I called the Ford number yesterday and the rep said she didn’t know when I would get a production date, but that they were collecting the parts for my truck. What exactly does that mean and how long does it take to collect all the parts? After all the parts are collected, what is your guess on a production date?

I guess it could be worse. Your car could be built and on a ship coming from Europe that caught fire, was abandoned by the crew, and cannot be boarded as there are 4000 VW, Audi, Porsche, and Bentley cars burning, including lots of electrics with chemical battery fires going on....

NEVER let scumbag dealers win… call them out whenever you can.

The fact they got called by their head office shows calling them out on social media does make a difference. In this case, Jim Farley himself has condemned their practices, so MTC members should feel no guilt whatsoever for calling out these scumbag dealers to protect fellow members. Name names!

WOW! " Still opportunity for 2022" that really puts what I feared into print. I admit I was greedy and sold my Canyon to Carvana back in July after I got Fords confirmation. But I truly figured I would have taken delivery of the Maverick by now. Been sharing 1 vehicle with my wife, which I know is a First World problem and nothing to cry about. If I ever do get a VIN I will take delivery and not let the dealer have it. Just wondering how to fix this now and get a second vehicle in a really poor buyers market.
