I’ve come to the conclusion that changing the cab mounted bed lights, reverse lights, and maybe even the side markers to LED is worth the effort. The incandescent bed lights in particular look so dingy, they’re much better as an LED. And the backup camera night vision is much improved with LED...
Those side clamps I pictured are very strong and are used to clamp down racks which experience heavy loads. Especially the Elevate Racks, which carry very heavy loads like canoes and ladders above the cab. They will not come off!
This is a typical elevate rail application. Clamp the angle...
Best to pry them up using a plastic trim removal tool. They are held in place by number of push clips. But be careful to put something behind the tool so it doesn’t dig into the main dash plastic, which is very, very susceptible to being gouged.
But I found the center speaker grille was solid...
One suggestion would be to clamp aluminum angle stock to the bed side rails using side clamps, similar to clamping Elevate rails or a tonneau cover. That would give you a drillable horizontal surface to bolt down the panels. Loosening the clamps would make it relatively easy to temporarily...
It's a bit more subtle. Covers only hybrid models with the 4.2” instrument cluster display.
So most hybrid XL and XLT, but not ones equipped with the optional 6.5” display, like the FX4 models. And not Lariats of course since they all have the 6.5” display.
Turns out it is relatively easy to make a charging harness for use under the rear seat. There is an unused stud on the positive battery terminal block, and a convenient ground on a nearby module. You can get a standard fused cable with SAE plug, tape it with loom tape to give it the factory look...
That must be a very generic Ford manual section, since most of those power points don’t exist. I could only wish for so many. Looking at the list provided in the manual in detail:
On the lower instrument panel - We all get that one.
Inside the center console - None in there
On the front of the...
That’s how they get ya! Just that one more essential thing they purposely left out to force a move up to the next trim level. Ford has legions of marketeers who figure out what affects you the most and design the trim/package content accordingly.
BTW, I have a Lariat lux, so clearly it worked...
Yep, the price increases and higher interest rates are pretty much bringing supply and demand back into equilibrium.
The XL hybrid is really the only unicorn that could command a retail premium. And Ford did that on purpose to push people into a higher trim level.
Holding off on doing the update may work for now, but it will be virtually impossible to prevent it from being applied at some point.
It’s a NHTSA safety related recall, so it will stick out like a red light on any documentation, including the Ford service booking software. Just taking it in...
The general intelligence consensus is a refresh in 2025 and a platform change in 2027/2028.
Given the commercial success of the Maverick in its current form, the refresh is likely to be minor. Maybe some front end styling changes, some new electronic features, and some materials improvements to...
You are misunderstanding… 24atlasmaverick was referring to the foam engine cover that fits on the engine. The Corsair part does fit since it is the same engine, but it has a lincoln emblem. A couple of minor hardware items are also needed since they are omitted from the Maverick engine.
Your...
Sounds like a boiler plate warning in case your dealer is not up to speed on the current mobile service methods.
I got an unsolicited call from the local dealer saying their mobile service unit was out doing Ford software updates, and when’s a good time. A marked car arrived at the appointed...
Maybe people read it that way, but it is a silly interpretation. There are plenty of useful mandates implemented for the common good, starting with the one about stopping at a stop sign.
Besides, “should” in the original comment referred to individual cases where it made economic sense, not a...
Better still, only allow closed top containers like water bottles or restricted flow drinking cups.
Having an open top container or cup of anything in a vehicle is just asking for a major spill to happen.
As for OP spill, if there is a malfunction the offending switch module will have to be...
Ah, yes, that would make sense.
DAB is in a different band and the basic C2 electrical architecture is global (Kuga in Europe), so it would have to support DAB. Although I’m sure the DAB front end has been depopulated on North American designated radio modules.
