So… I may have found a large part of the rattle?? Here’s what happened and how I replicated it!!
1.)Highway driving between 60-72mph
2.)Temp 16-12 degrees windy/cold
3.)thought I found it being caused by my leg/knee resting on the black part of door handle/window buttons area! Nope!
4.) it’s coming from the driver side door gray pannel at the speaker!! I was on the choppy road when it did it… I was able to make it replicate by tapping/banging on that area!! It’s the speaker/door panel! I will take some pictures (forgot) maybe the clips are defective and or he didn’t fix it all the way last time?
More on this soon!

Yes, take some pics and let me know. So weird that the drivers side door would cause the noise on the passenger side.

The only equivalence i have of this in my maverick so far is a pop in the plastic or in the dash or right in the back of the engine bay. It is a solitary pop and only happens when turning. And not every time either, not a huge deal in any way just odd. Not even that loud, just barely noticeable to notice it. Could very well be just plastic and other parts wearing in as well. But the dash does make some noise some times for sure, especially when its cold out. But what can i say, its the most inexpensive truck ford makes and its got a lot of plastic. Doesn’t bother me none really

Ok…not good news. They found it is in the passenger dash. Used a stethoscope to pinpoint. Unfortunately, they won’t take apart the dash because they don’t know what is causing it. Nothing is hitting the windshield. Then the dealership (where I did not buy it from) told me it’s poor build quality- not just mine but all of them. They are not looking forward to a long line of recalls they have to address. They said they have not serviced a more poor thought out design and quality…….they said until people complain, and it has to be a lot, ford won’t do anything.

Does this dealer sale anything besides FORD? Sounds like they need to find a different manufacturer if they’re that unhappy with quality. And willing to run off the service business.

That makes no sense to me. Of course they don't know what's causing it if they don't take apart the dash.

They only sell ford. They said they were happy with all that ford has out except bronco sports and mavericks. They said problems.

Poor build quality? I was told this is a state of the art modern factory with highly skilled workers. I don't understand 😕. Some owners are reporting rattles everywhere and some no rattles. This certainly leads one to believe there is quality issues. Mine is still 6 months out. I will make a tough decision when it arrives.

Quality control must have decided that rattles are OK on this vehicle as long as they don't cause more than 50db worth of sound while driving.

Now, my front right dash is rattling, front left portion of the dash, something on the left door handle, and something in the back seat is rattling!!!

Yep got back seat rattle behind driver… I got it to calm down by closing down the bottom bench with pressure and moving the seatbelts off the plastic areas… but I think that’s ok now…

FOUND IT! But sadly its not going to help you guys. My rattle was my garage door opener which was clipped to the sun visor. Sooo relieved to have found the source of the noise. Hope you guys can figure yours out.

I have a dash rattle as well, just noticed it this past weekend, I don't think it was doing it before and I'm at 1800 miles. Sound like it's coming from the top near either the dash speaker or where the A-pillar meets the dash. Normally I don't care about rattles so much but this is almost like a popping sound every time I hit a bump in the road, and it doesn't start immediately only after about 15-20 minutes of driving.
Hi there – send a message to us with your VIN and approximate mileage. I’ll look into this for you. Thanks!

****ALSO Your description is spot on!!! the bouncing left to right!! its the most peculiar sound... like rubbing hard new warm plastic...but it also has a reverbing sound...?? If i get it to do it again, I will try to record it with audio/video... If it isn't dangerous or damaging... I may have to live with it... not a fan of letting someone take apart a new truck dash.... wind up with more noise than began with
Checking back in on this thread and update on my rattle noise, I'm pretty sure its the cheap tweeters up front. Depending on music i can get them to rattle and make the noise. Its the identical to the noise heard when i turn radio off and hit a few bumps, which then creates the noise i usually hear driving. With work and cold weather haven't had a chance to pull them completely but hoping this week. Will probably order a new set anyway. Keep you all posted

I have a service appointment next week at my local dealer for this issue. I'm not sure if anything will get solved but at least the issue will be documented. My dash rattles seem to be the loudest when I'm driving on a SMOOTH but slightly uneven road that cause the car to shift left to right. Someone previously mentioned they think it has something to do with the frame of the car flexing around the front windshield. I'm starting to think that might actually be the case because it does sound like it's flexing and the plastic trim is being moved causing the light rattles.

As for the backseat rattle, I think it's inside of the the plastic trim for the rear seatbelts. I'll have to have a friend drive while I sit in the back and try to listen closely to find where it's coming from.

It's too bad I really love this car but rattles are my #1 pet peeve.

Man sorry to hear of the rattle issues. My Lariat hybrid has a build date of 2/7.

If I get these dreaded rattles I’ll take the dash apart if needed. I’d rather me take it apart than a tech who might break clips and is careless because it’s not their personal vehicle.
