I’m getting ready to do oil change #5 on my 22. I don’t like to go more than a year in between and it’s been almost a year since the last one. Just under 17.5K miles on mine.

No later then 1 year. Condensation, humidity, and temperature changes will eventually lead o water collecting in the engine oil pan.

I doubt you use it enough to justify a 6 month oil change.

My opinion is the 1 yr thing is snake oil. An engine in L.A. getting the same treatment as one in Fargo is a bit of a stretch. Change it according to the monitor and it'll be 12 months.

I change my oil every Equinox (low mileage EB). Although I might wait until Winter Soltice for my 2nd change this year. I’ll see what the Blackstone Wizard reveals.

Most (all?) oil manufacturers recommend not to go beyond one year in the engine for the reasons you listed.
Ok to store in sealed bottles for multiple years however. An opened but capped bottle maybe a bit more than a year.

My 24 has 7k. I am doing once a year with synthetic. All city driving short trips. Not hot enough to burn out any condensation After having 5 vehicles and going to one, no sense in worrying about cost at one change a year and doesn’t hurt a thing. That is also in sync with monitor.

Exactly the manufactures know what they’re doing and probably are tired of the dealers and other places wasting customers money and time lol

Lot of factors such as temp changes and short trips or long trips effects intervals. My parents have a 2.0 ecoboost Fusion. They put less than 3000 miles a year on the car. I still change it once a year. Temp changes in Michigan and lots of short trips.

I do similar. Like having fresh oil for hot summers and cold winters.

You should take a little road trip every so often to get the engine good and warm.

Depends how much its used. i go by miles in our maverick. Every 5000. I also have an antique that it gets changed once a year, which is about every 400- 500 miles.

Looking at the recall list on the Maverick, after things like the backup camera failure, you can understand I'm not so trusting in "manufacturers know best". Its more like "manufacturers know how to get just outside warranty".
