For trips under 50 miles we mainly use my Wife’s PHEV without burning any gas. We use the Maverick a lot for highway driving in the 50 to 100 mile range. For pure highway driving the Maverick gets around 35 mpg which is actually better than her hybrid!
I have used 87 octane since day 1, currently 12000 miles and see no need to go any higher! The only thing I have noticed is a slight hesitation when you punch it but this truck is amazingly quick!!
Mine doesn’t work on short trips around town but when I drive up to Orlando ( 55 miles ) it seems to wake up! That’s ok with me since I end up sitting at stoplights for longer periods of time up there.
I jumped on the BEV bandwagon when Ford came out with the MachE back in 21 despite my Wife’s protest due to her lack of confidence in the charging infrastructure. We loved the car but ended up selling it mainly because of some long road trips we were planning on doing in 23.
We ended up buying...
I didnt know it was adjustable but mine always reads 1 to 2 mpg higher than the actual mileage. My overall mpg at 12k miles is showing 29.5 but actually closer to 28.
I have had my Truck for 16 months and just under 10k miles and no battery issues so far. It once sat for 3 weeks while we did a long road trip in my Wife’s car and started right up when we got back. The ASS feature works intermittently and sometimes I just turn it off.
Mine came out of a Bronco Sport. Just for grins I decided to leave the Bronco button on it. Also I added knobs so that the radio and ac knobs match up.
Had a manual slider in my Dodge Ram but rarely used it however I love the power slider in the Maverick! I like to vent the sunroof and open the slider for the airflow. I will be doing that today on my way up to Orlando.
I got addicted to the instant torque you get with the Electric motors!! We ended up getting an Outlander PHEV for road trips. It’s basically an EV with onboard gas powered generator. Having had HEV and BEV prior the PHEV has been the best fit for our needs but the Maverick is good for road trips...
We had a Mach E from July of 21 until November of last year. Loved the car but we decided to sell it because of some long road trips we had planned for this year. Luckily for us we were able to sell it before the market crashed and got most of our money back!
Never was a Ford guy when it came to Trucks. Prior to this one I owned 2 Chevy and 2 Dodge Trucks. The last one being a Dodge which I kept for 19 years! When I bought that one gas was going for around $1.50 per gallon!!
