I wonder if anyone else has had it show this but my short 6-7 minute commute home one morning my dash showed my mpg was 999.9. I found that pretty funny.
I'll do the opposite of this. I got a solid 14.8 mpg driving my 2 miles to work today (I usually bike in to work though since I'm so close), but it was -2F! I have one 15 mile drive where I've observed in the summer I get about 55 mpg, when it's 30s/40s I get about 40 mpg, and when it's teens and colder I get about 32 mpg.

As I’ve said before……….
First game of the season I go 2 for 4.
Doesn’t make me a .500 hitter.
Or I go hitless.
Doesn’t make me a .000 hitter.
Look at the bigger picture.

HA! I was a .000 hitter. I sucked (but my parents and especially my dad loved it as he often volunteered to be assistant coach and later ump), and embarrassingly I was often put up high in the lineup, but because I was short and walked a lot. I hated little league and remember one game where I was cheering from the dugout ... for the other team. Ooof, what a brat. Thanks for bringing back bad memories lol.

I live in Texas where the speed limits go up to 85 MPH. ....... most of my driving trips are short, one to five miles at a time which will lower MPG because you accelerate more as a percentage of the distance travelled than if you drive over five miles with less acceleration, say on a freeway or long stretch of country road. I guess you need to get out of town and drive more!
Actually, with the hybrid, it is really the opposite. High highway speeds kill the MPG (any highway speeds really) and stop and go scenarios are where it excells. In your case, it's probably all the warm up cycles and never getting fully warmed up eating away your MPG.

It has and I’m down around 20% total from summer months so the 10% I am attributing to it is not due to the cold.

I would recommend sticking to the 225/55/19s which are SL rated if looking at the Wildpeak trails. Those are less than 4lbs heavier per tire over the Territory HT.

If you don’t have a Lariat I would like at the Firestone defender at 2 which are incredibly light for an AT tire.

I’m very happy with the Wildpeaks. The hit to efficiency is something I have to live with and I’m okay with it.
I looked, I couldn't find Firestone Defenders.
Did you mean Firestone Destination AT 2 ?

I’m getting 48.3 over the past three months of probably 70% suburban / urban driving an the remainder highway driving in Tucson.

Last year at the same time I hit 50+ for a while.

It’s easy to drop well below that if you drive like crap. One guy related that a truck driver turned Uber driver routinely hits 80 mpg in his Maverick uber using hypermiling tricks he developed in his forty years driving over the road semis. I can hit 74 for brief stints in undulating road conditions.

Yup. I hypermiled my last '23 Sonata Hybrid always in ECO mode, and never used cruise control. In summer months, would get 58 - 64 mpg as EV would kick in even at 70mph sometimes on the hwy flat runs. Winter (under 50 degrees), best would be 46mpg. Also found that using cruise caused the ICE to kick in to speed up or even slow down (especially on hills) to maintain mph seting.

Cant wait for my ordered '26 Mav Lariat Hybrid to get here.... but, am a little currious how the eCVT performs vs the Hyundai 6spd auto with mpg. Do plan on using same technique for mpg.

Don't forget temperature. I do great (average upper 40s) outside of winter but in single digits (including below zero) I'm way less.

This hybrid likes it hot.
Highest MPG will come in the warmest weather you can stand without turning on the A/C.

I peak out at about 87°F to 89°F and windows down.
Then I gotta use the air conditioner.
Ford Maverick Terrible gas mileage! IMG_7576

700 miles per tank, pretty common for me, in warm weather with no A/C. 800 miles per tank feasible when I stay off the interstate.

Yeah, that about right. But I find the 60s, 70s do just as well as long as you don't let it cool down (running errands and such). Once it gets too hot it runs the AC just to cool the battery down even if you don't run the cabin AC. I do like seeing that high number.

I hope you'll start a hypermileing thread on the new 26 lariat awd and note if it is 4Ktow.
From my experience, there's a price to be paid for awd4K, and likely also for MY25-26 design changes!

The eCVT is so much smoother (based on a recent hyundai rental). Seems weird to have a hybrid that shifts.
