Kei cars, or trucks? Where did you get them?
They are both 2 door hatchbacks. A Suzuki Cervo and a Suzuki Alto Works. The Cervo is a 4 cylinder twin cam Intercooled turbo 660CC while the Alto is a single cam intercooled turbo 3 cylinder. I got both from Bring a Trailer. Got the Alro in 2022 for my wife and i got the Cervo last year from Bring a Trailer. Thinking of selling the Cervo. It has Recaro seats and they a little tight for my old ass. The car does make me grin a lot, it is a fun tossable toy. Reminds me of a 3/4 size A1 VW GTi

This is what I use in my "may contain up to 20% alcohol" gasoline in all my polaris, mowers, generators, etc. NEVER an issue even if I don't start something for several months. Fuel filters even are not even clogged by condensate which sometimes happens even with alcohol free gas. (About 1 1/2 oz per 5 gallons of gas).

Thank you! I will try that out.

Actually those do sound like fun but for grins I have the motorcycle and the Miata. The Miata is the gas hog at upper 30’s mpg but is fun to drive.

Good idea. I haven't had an issue since using costco gas exclusively but this couldn't hurt.
Hopefully available at Amazon?

Recently, I accidentally grabbed the wrong nozzle at the gas pumps and filled my 2.5 Hybrid with what we call "real gas" around here. I noticed it when the pump was showing the price as 50¢ more per gallon than the price marquee showed for "Regular" (10% ethanol) gas. I did not notice the Octane rating, but it was just Regular ethanol-free, not mid-Grade or Premium - all of which are available here. I grumbled to myself about filling the truck with more expensive fuel than I normally do, and quickly forgot about it.

Later, I kept noticing the mileage was consistently at least 5 MPG better than what I was used to. It finally hit me that it might be the real gas is giving better MPG. In the past, I've tried higher octane gas, but it still contained ethanol; and it made no difference in my Hybrid's mileage, vs ethanol gas of lower octane.

Anyone else experience the same thing in their Hybrid Mavericks?
There is a lot less clatter coming from under the hood when using 'real' gas. But ethanol is good for keeping moisture from collecting in the winter. Personally, I like less noise and don't care about mileage or cost differences.

Buy a gallon get 4 quarts for about the price of 3 by the quart. Some times 1 gallon off shelf at Walmart is the cheapest buy the gallon price. A gallon usually lasts me about 1.5 years or more. Just check options. Buy a quart first to get the nozzle on the squeezable bottle followed by the gallon to refill it! 🤗🤗🤗

I have owned four hybrid vehicles the past decade or so. I have noticed on all these hybrid vehicles that gas mileage is a little better after vehicles are filled. And then I noticed that gas mileage drops as tank empties. Not a lot but enough to notice. Don’t know if it is a real thing or flaw in gas monitoring process. I also like to alternate gas types to lower ethanol ratio. Back in the day when that stuff first came out it did a number on ice performance , not just engine components but also gas tanks. So for me less ethanol is better. Higher octane also gets closer to manufacture recommendation and vehicle testing environment.

I had a Miata about 10 years ago. It was a 97. That car had the best shifter of any car i have ever owned(and i have owned over 100). I used it to take the long way home from work to "depressurize". I had a motorcycle in my youth but sold it when we built our first house.

I'm on my 90th tank of 10% ethanol and milage is above 50 MPG.

The driver and the route you take are larger factors than the fuel.

But pure gas is KNOWN to give 3% to 4% better MPG in the same conditions.
