So, this past week I started making raised bed garden boxes and delivered them to customers with my 5' x 8' utility trailer. At first, I forgot to change the mode of the engine, so it was in normal mode for the first few trips. It ran a little slower, but was OK. The towing didn't affect the gas mileage much, but you could tell I was towing.
The next few trips I changed the engine mode to towing. More HP, but it came at a cost of my mpg going down to 33 mpg. I can probably get away with just leaving it in normal mode, but I didn't know if it would do any damage to the engine.
My trailer weighs 800 lbs, and the boxes weigh around 80 lbs each, and the most I can fit on my trailer is four of them.
