Over a period of time, the fuel filter became clogged and the injectors were compromised. The entire fuel delivery system was cleaned out including dropping the tank. It was covered under warranty. I have non ethanol delivered to the house in bulk and use a filter in front of the hose/nozzle. Been buying from the same source for 10 years. No other customers complained about the fuel. The service receipt had a notation that said not to use non ethanol free any more.
Ethanol has some cleaning properties that pure gas doesn't, if you're going to use non-ethanol I'd run some PEA fuel system cleaners through it regularly.

91 ethanol free is $7.49 a gallon here! I only use it in my lawn mower and snow blower.
You need a different lawn mower.
I have a Honda. Push mower. 6 HP I think.

Has used 10% ethanol for 15 years.
Zero tune ups.
I don't drain the gas in winter.
Never change the oil (and it doesn't use oil).

I want it to die so I can get an electric.
But it won't die. I have about 1/8 acre of grass.

It has been posted that the hybrid maverick is not had fuel added for a period of time (6 months? Don't remember) that it will run ice longer without electric drive until gas is added.
Is that supposed to be a question?
❓

I have seen no evidence of this nor read any evidence of this.

Besides, in a sealed container gasoline is fine for at least 2 years.

This.

This is why you should stick with one or the other.

10% ethanol keeps a clean fuel system clean.

Pure gasoline accumulated tar, varnish, and gunk in your fuel system which is generally harmless for the first 200,000 miles or so. The junk stays stuck to the metal surfaces. But it's in there.

Ethanol will soften and remove the tar, varnish, and other junk, putting it into the liquid gas, making it mobile, and will clog up fuel filters and jets.

Damned if you do and damned if you don’t! 😉

I've run nothing but Kawasaki engines for the last 35 years on my riding mowers. That includes my current Bad Boy Maverick zero turn mower. Also run it in my Yamaha jetboat and outboards. I do mow about an acre and live in south Texas so we mow weekly from Feb-Dec. And I do yearly maintenance that includes oil, filter, blades, fuel and air filters. Still runs like new after five years.

That may be true until it ages and separates past 30 days. Then it becomes a carbs worst nightmare.

Maybe I’ve missed it, but it seems that nobody has brought this up.
But……….
I leave my Mav for weeks (sometimes months) at a time. I just give the fuel a double dose of fuel stabilizer. Same stuff I use in my mower and my boat.
Seems to work.

Still looking for a definitive answer: does Ford recommend the use of non ethanol gas in the Maverick hybrid? Picked up my 2026 Lariat yesterday and was most impressed. FYI, my avatar is a 1929 Model A CCPU with a highly modified 200 CID original engine and a 5-speed transmission.

But it doesn't separate.
Not in any typical proportions 99.99% of people are going to encounter.

What puts you in the 0.01%?

Hurricane often?

Needs nothing added to a sealed container. Do you think a hybrid Maverick gas tank qualifies as a sealed container?

Ford neither recommends nor discourages it because it is up to you.

They approve of 0% to 15% ethanol blended gasolines.

They discourage use of diesel and make no mention of kerosine.

I have a Polaris quad that i use to plow snow in the winter. I have a John Deere lawn tractor for the yard. My quad is 13 years old and runs like new. I have used Ethanol free with sta-bil in my power equipment. I have 2 JDM RHD turbocharged Kei cars. They are a 93 and a 95. The Japanese do not use our garbage corn gas so i only run ethanol free in them. Otherwise i inviting issues with the fuel system. We only drive them less than 1,000 miles a year to local shows and cruises so the extra cost for pure gas is minor, especially since the both have 660CC engines.

Kei cars, or trucks? Where did you get them?

This is what I use in my "may contain up to 20% alcohol" gasoline in all my polaris, mowers, generators, etc. NEVER an issue even if I don't start something for several months. Fuel filters even are not even clogged by condensate which sometimes happens even with alcohol free gas. (About 1 1/2 oz per 5 gallons of gas).
