I ordered mine in January 2025. The replacement lid arrived a week or two ago.
Bak has all the data though because you put it in for the warranty request, so if there was an update and the new lid is skinnier, Bak would know that and should have sent shims or new rails.
I will say they are...
Oh man, I got the Revolver X4Ts with the rails for the Elevate rack. I love the rails, I hate this cover. Ive had 5 defects now.
1) original lid the side rubber seals weren't fully attached. Bak sent me superglue for me to repair myself.
2) end cap broke. They sent me 4!
3) screw holding latch...
Yeah, that is a real good perspective Darryl, thanks for that info. It really provides some light into the dilemma you all face as techs, and info to hopefully help everyone who reads this to help the techs do their jobs efficiently. I forget that I really live in a bubble in our industry, but...
Awesome! Kudos on actually caring, and i truly mean that! Can you imagine if all techs and dealers operated like that? It shows that you really care to solve the problem! I hope you inspire and encourage your fellow techs to do the same!
The XL does it too. As I've said in the past, #keeplaststate ... it shouldn't be hard to program as my other cars accomplished it. For me it is a minor inconvenience, but has made starting the car a multi step process.
Yes, but at least in my situation I'm talking about tue behavior when the vehicle is started. So I can have the hvac completely off. When I turned it off, the ac was also set to off. Next time I start the vehicle the hvac it typically on again, and depending on the conditions the ac is also on...
The HVAC does automatically come on even when not in auto. I almost always turn the HVAC off when I get out of my Mav, especially in winter. About 80% of the time when I get back in, the fan is back on. I don't understand how the algorithm decides to keep it off 20% of the time, but it seems to...
I've used this
Its American made, a thick heavy rubber, and only $70. Does it have cosmetic blemishes? Yes, but after 1 load of wood I cannot find rhe blemishes anymore
I ran into this exact problem with my Prius v. When I first owned it, I worked to minimize brake use and maximize fuel economy. However, my rotors rotted out in 2 or 3 years (I forget which), and I failed inspection. When I replaced the brakes, the rotors looked bad, especially the rears. After...
That there is the rotating of the bracket I was talking about. If you don't really crank down on that bolt, the bracket rotates, and the cable can then move behind the strut when you close the gate. The cable catch, or whatever you call it, install there clearly is one fix to the issue.
The problem isn't the bolt actually loosening. It's just how the plate mounts, if it's not tight enough, it can twist since only 1 bolt holds it on. It's been OK now for about a year now though.
I had that problem. It was because the plate the strut attaches to rotates, moving the connecting point of the strut. The cable can then move behind the strut when the tailgate is closed.
Solution was loosen the bolt holding the plate, rotate the plate so it's vertical, and then you have to...
What about the 3rd brake light? Anyone see any melting issues like the cargo light? If not, what's the difference?
I checked my cargo light this morning, and fortunately the housing looks perfect still!
