Many of us remember our childhood homes with the manual garage doors. Dad would voice command us to get out of car & open the garage door (no lock).

Is that before or after he'd have you change the tv channel and hold onto the antenna? Many of us remember our childhood homes with the manual garage doors. Dad would voice command us to get out of car & open the garage door (no lock).
I resemble that line! Many of us remember our childhood homes with the manual garage doors. Dad would voice command us to get out of car & open the garage door (no lock).
Me tooI went this route. It is tiny and fits in the palm of my hand. I Velcroed it under my center console behind the start button. Nobody would know it is there.

Crappy we need to protect our property like this, I'd prefer to use shotgun but I also like living on the outside lolYep.
I know the owner of a window replacement company. When I had the vinyl shop we sold paint protection film / PPF. I tried an experiment using Automotive self healing ppf film on residential window glass. Properly installed it will withstand hits from a baseball bat without allowing entry. I took end rolls of ppf and installed it inside and out on all my downstairs windows. I've had a steel security screen door for the last 25 years.
Service door in the garage is behind the brick wall and has a steel rod that goes into the concrete. It ain't pretty but that door is not coming open.
Times have changed when I grew up school yards we're not fenced at all. Now all the school yards have chain link fences around them.Crappy we need to protect our property like this, I'd prefer to use shotgun but I also like living on the outside lol
Here is what I came up with:

It would rattle on the sun visor. I use the cubby hole for the FOB. My truck does not have a sunglasses holder.
It is made out of a piece of thin sheet metal. Dimensions in metric because the cut size came on the line. Width and length of ice cream bar stick will be depend on your remote. If it rattles put some sound deadening material under the remote.

Ya we didn’t have fences around my school also, had to run down banks and run across roads to retrieve lost balls etc. I like Glens little friends.Times have changed when I grew up school yards we're not fenced at all. Now all the school yards have chain link fences around them.
I do what I call hardening of the soft points of the house. Hopefully I don't have to resort to using my little friend.
DM with pictures sent.
Thank you! Great post and very helpful for those who want an alternative to mounting the opener on the visor.Sorry...but, look up Tacorbo Center Console Organizer for 2022 thru 2026 Mavericks on Amazon.
Perfect for lots of "stuff." I put my remote in the front slot. Perfect. And the Organizer sits right in place, no moving, no noises.....perfect, and makes great use of that deep center console.
There's a 2nd layer also as part of the Organizer.

Actually, you do have a sunglass holder if you have one of these on your roof line.

Why do you think I would not know if I had a sunglasses holder?

Do you think a Corsair self dimming rear view mirror will fit my Maverick?Picked up a auto dimming mirror with home link from a Nissan Murano at a local scrap yard for $25
Its about 1/4" bigger height wise but very close to the same size as the Maverick.
Not sure I like the compass part but there's a button to turn it off
