Had dealer put in a Ford AGM with reset on my '22 Hybrid, drove 600 miles (during which battery fluctuated betwixt 89-91% state of charge), went away for 9 days and vehicle was totally dark when we returned. However, doors unlocked and it started fine. Cannot remember state of charge, but it was much lower. .Until whatever is causing parasitic draw is discovered and corrected, I think most of us will continue to haunt this board seeking resolution.
How are you measuring the SOC percentage?

2025 hybrids, which came with an AGM-type 12v battery, are also having the deep sleep battery problem. Not the solution.
Oh. I wasn't aware of that. Most of the earlier hybrids that had the AGM replacement were able to have the deep sleep problem resolved. Seems there's something amiss with the 2025 version. Maverick Mystery.

The agm just has more reserve capacity and will last longer before sleeping.

Not sure what you meant by "vehicle was totally dark". The good news is that it unlocked and started without outside assistance. With the flooded cell batteries, deep sleep meant not even enough power to unlock the doors. Sounds like there's a unknown draw and the truck goes into battery protection mode. Nine days is probably longer than what most people leave their vehicle idle.

Putting in an AGM 12v battery in 2022 through 2024 Maverick hybrids does not resolve the deep sleep problem. Also, Ford puts an AGM 12v battery into 2025 Maverick hybrids and they are also having the deep sleep problem.

We sometimes do not use our Maverick for longer than 9 days. I have a near mint 1996 Ford Bronco XLT. It is a classic and can sit in the garage for a month or more and the lights come on when the door is opened and starts on first turn of the key. Ridiculous a modern vehicle can't hold a charge. It can't hold it because evidently incompetent engineers don't know how to design a vehicle to properly and adequately recharge the battery fully. People calling deep sleep a "feature" or "battery saving mode" is disingenuous. It isn't a feature, it is emblematic of a larger problem. It means the vehicle's battery is in a death spiral. Ford needs to find some competent engineers and get this fixed once and for all.

I understand and agree with your assessment. Let's keep in mind the 2022-25 Mavericks have a heck of lot more electronic features than your 96 that require power even when the vehicle sits. Having said that, Ford people should have designed a better battery or a better system to prevent power failures. The battery saving mode narrative now sounds more like a deflection from a problem that Ford should have caught earlier.

My hybrid is a '22 model, 29,000 miles and I get data from the ScanGauge II. By "dark" I meant that none of the interior lights were operating.

Your 2024 needed a new battery? wow.
On the surface that would seem to be completely unacceptable, but we don't know the details on how the battery got to that point. Nonetheless, we are all too familiar with the problems the Ford battery has bestowed on the Maverick.

I don't understand why so many on here are blaming the battery when the problem lies in the charging circuit. The Ford Maverick hybrid engineers simply did not design the circuitry to properly recharge the 12v battery, regardless of whether it is a flooded lead acid battery or an Absorbent Glass Mat battery. Fix the charging circuit and the problem with deep sleep is solved.

Thanks. Makes total sense . . . unless the 'dark side' has infiltrated more than we thought.
