The 2025 Ford Maverick EcoBoost features an all-new completely redesigned 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. Who knew? Many of you do and did, but it was news to me in putting together this video. I popped the hood on the 2025 Maverick Lobo I'm reviewing this week and had a WTF moment. Well this is the second take on this video no thanks to Ford Motor Company and their vacant communications department. The below piece was put together with technical information from Ford of China and other countries, some of you on this forum (thank you), and other sources to get to the facts of what's under the hood starting in 2025. I also got back under the hood and looked a little harder . Enjoy.

From what I remember reading (in this forum, back when the '25s were first announced), it's a new "modular" engine style, common to many other vehicles, so it's an economy of scale thing, with less production variability.

This also indicates that Ford plans to offer the EcoBoost for the forseeable future, contrary to what some people here have surmised.

Biggest reason is the dual fuel injection. This will prevent carbon build up and minimize fuel dilution. It will help the engine live longer, and not die a premature death.

It can highly benefit higher HP builds too. You only have to upgrade the port injectors for more boost or hi flow E85 Programs. The direct injection can stay stock. It runs much cleaner at idle in this configuration.

That's caused by the particulate filter that was added in the exhaust, not the engine.

The 2025 version of the engine for the Canadian market still makes 250 HP.

Thanks for the link but didn't see a picture so must of missed something.
I don't care if a Maverick has one or not nor any hp difference but wanted to see what it looks like.

If they could just get rid of E85 ethanol gasoline and go with clear gas (ethanol free), they wouldn't have to do all this. For a tiny amount of CO2 reduction (CO2 is not a harmful gas) you lose around 25% MPG that you would see with clear gas. There is no reason we should be using corn and sugar cane to make vehicle fuel when the U.S. has one of the largest reserves of oil in the ground ready to be tapped.
