Yes, the integrated oil separator too.

I've read other posts too, but really would like the source to be Ford.
I imagine Ford wants to keep certain designs proprietary. Catch Can manufacturers would prefer Ford to keep quiet on the new “built-in catch can” technology;)

The turbo’s whistle is at too high a frequency for my old ears to hear. Reminds me of a story about a tree in a forest..
I can only really hear it when I don't have the B&O sound system going, which is 80% of the time but I actually like it when I do hear it.

You can hear the turbo fairly loud its not the piped in sound. I'm assume with a panel filter or new airbox you would hear it spool it quite nicely.
I am glad to hear the sound is real.

I consider my 2024 Eco to be one of the quietest vehicles I’ve ever owned.
I don’t need it to sound powerful to please me and I definitely don’t need to impress others with sound of a powerful motor.
It’s a 4 banger not a V-8.
I definitely don’t like the fact that they used the speakers to try and mimic powerful motor sounds.
I think that’s so lame.

BMW pissed off many customers when they found out they hid a speaker in the dash. That was what, twenty years ago ?

I would like to see dyno results for the new MPC 2.0 engine. It feels pretty strong for 250 HP. I don't like the "buzzy" sound, on initial startup, when the engine is cold. Agree that Ford should have made some type of statement about MPC engine design.

When we went from Duratec to Ecoboost we never got rid of the oil separator. Switching over to MPC it of course was retained. It’s nothing great but it’s been a persistent thing for two decades on the 4 cylinders

I think the latest EB has a redesigned oil separator…per AI:

“The 2025 EcoBoost 2.0L’s oil separator is likely an evolution of the breather plate design used in 2020–2023 models (e.g., Escape, Ranger, Explorer), which featured increased baffle surface area to trap more oil vapor. The new design may incorporate similar principles but with enhanced efficiency, possibly through better baffling or filtration media.”

I don't care for the Buzzy sound on initial start up either it sounds kind of weird IMO out of the tail pipe.

Yes it was redesigned to be more in line with how we designed the 5.0 PCV system
Thank you for the redesign! Any insights into the redesigned aluminum valve cover?

I’m a broad level guy so the specifics aren’t my thing but I believe it was mainly to enhance longevity due to the internalized EGR changing a large portion of the head design and cooling demands

I put on a straight thru Offset Muffler and it hides the whistle (whine) perfefectly. Now its a rich throaty sound
