I spent many months researching to go from a full size Silverado, prior had a F-150, to a small or mid-sized truck. Ruled out Toyota ans Nissan immediately because the ride and ingress is just as bad as what I had. Narrowed down to Ridgeline (never really card for Honda although being in a couple of their plants before and impressed) and Maverick. Many of the reviews and articles I read said Ford picked the name Maverick not as a nod to the old car but to the target customer demographic. They were targeting the 25 to 35 young environmentally conscious urban or suburban dwellers. I think the buyers are much older. I personally am 66 and the first time I saw one I thought "a 4 door Ranchero finally." Just curious if I am correct in my thinking but most of the drivers I have seen are at least over 40.

I don't think Ford expected the Maverick to be so popular with Gen X and the Boomers. I bet at least half of the trucks are purchased by people over 40 years old. Myself included. I wanted a truck that was smaller than my Ram and more fuel efficient with new tech and a better ride. Somebody did a poll a while back, if you can find it. I don't have good luck with the search option on MTC. 😬

bought my '22 at age 67 - got tired of paying to repair 10+ year old 12 mpg Lincoln Aviator - found everything I'd ever want on the Mav - an outstanding price, excellent MPG oh and 'features' that no longer working on my Aviator - like A/C :} Just looking for some basic transportation - when I found this available I couldn't wait to put down my deposit...and wait about 1 year. Bought purely the base xl 0 option and got out of the dealer for under $22 k including taxes (for some reason there was a 500 dollar incentive at the time) - didn't need any options, didn't want to pay for them anyways and at 3 percent interest it was a no brainer. I see plenty of 'seasoned citizens' driving these, it's small enough for easy driving and manueverability and comes in handy all the time. Ford also was surprised by how many opted for the hybrid over the ECO. Not sure what kind of market research they did in that they got a different demographic and vehicle mix than they had anticipated.

I'm 74, had mine 2 1/2 years. I've had trucks for decades and this one is exactly what I was looking for; AWD, Crew Cab, great mpg, quick, tows enough, looks great, good price & comfortable.

Haha you got a huge generational split for sure but I don't think everyone is over 40. Everything is so expensive that you have to be well off if you're under 40- you have to have a need or desire for a normal sized truck and then also be able to afford the hobbies and such.

I do always enjoy reading posts and seeing people that hate technology, comforts, etc. and I've been doing this for 30 years and you're not going to change my mind.

Also being flat towed is apparently a big deal - which is apparently very important if you own an RV.

I was 40 some 46 years ago! Perfect vehicle for me as its easy to get in and out of vs my F250 and just enough tech to not be overwhelming.

73 Had mine for just over a year. Sold my Explorer that had 277,000+ miles on it. Maverick does all I need it to do. Like hall my golf clubs safely.

I live in a 650 home 55 community. There are at least 5 in here. Seem very popular in Florida with all the old people
24 Lariat Tremor. Always had trucks, traded in a 22 Gladiator. Maverick is more practical as an only vehicle for 2.

I used the search function and found this from 2021.

As the Mavericks have gotten more expensive.
I really doubt that the buyers have gotten any younger.
