Bottom line, auto manufacturers these days have to come up with creative ways to meet CAFE standards, or be fined. There's a balance in keeping the customer and CAFE satisfied at the same time.
Put a button on the dash. "Cafe Standards On", "Cafe Standards Off" Put in owners manual "For maintenance purposes only". Everybody happy!

I think they got the idea from hybrids, which pretty much run off of battery while at a light or stop sign. The difference is those can start moving under electric motor while the engine starts up, and regular cars can't, which makes it a lot less seamless and a lot more annoying.

Bottom line, good idea for hybrids, bad idea for pure ICE setups.
My hybrid does it very smooth and, since the ice is off longer, more efficient. I still wish I had more control over that and a lot of other things.

My understanding is that there's a button to turn Auto Stop Start on and off.

For obvious reasons they don't abbreviate it as "ASS." But maybe they should.

The stereo of my XLT. As much as I didn’t want the Lariat, having the upgraded Sync system would have likely been a blessing. My stereo frequently has issues, this week it froze entirely and the only button that worked was the play/pause for 30 straight minutes. I also had a situation this week where it didn’t make it past the ford emblem. It’s a mess.
Do you know about the two button reset procedure? Hold the Power button (center of volume) and the FFWD/Next Track button for about 5-10 seconds and the system does a reboot. That fixes the freezing unresponsive system every time. If you are lucky, you only have to do that once a week or so. Hopefully you don't need to do that in the middle of using Maps to navigate.

Very little. Got spoiled with our primary car being an EV. Our secondary was a Kia Soul that we put on about 4k miles a year (whomever drove less got it) and the Maverick replaced that. Enjoying the Mav more and driving it a bit more, and it's not quite the "3 is mine, Kia is hers" but we both drive the truck, so now we have a native Floridian pumping gas in 3 below snowstorms this weekend here.

Other than that being able to set a drive mode for multiple drives. If I select eco, I wish there was a setting where you could turn on that it stays in that setting until you choose something else even after it's shut off.

Yeah I used that before but couldn't remember what the combo was when it happened this week. I would also so that I shouldn't have a stereo/rear view camera that freezes up or shuts down to the point where I need to know the cheat code to reset it.

All four windows on my Lariat are one touch, up and down.
Yeah I really love that and think it’s one of the top safety systems.
I bump a button and go back to driving with both hands on the wheel, very Important.

My pet peeve is having to hit the ok button every time I put on seat belts.
That goes away when you start driving. Actually it goes away or should go away when you put the truck in gear

It is your choice to push the OK button. You do not have to push it.. If you have buckled your seatbelts. It will self extinguish in 60 Seconds. Even after the truck is put into gear.

Hence the recall, which is now almost 6 months without a solution. 😒

Your not the first to point out the obvious I get it. Again, That minute is a long minute, i cannot set traction mode or do the two or three things I want to do as long at my screen is covered by that seat belt OK click. It did not need to even be there.
I got seat belt bells anyway.

It is a ridiculous lawyer induced thing, I don't like it.
Like auto stop/start, hate having to hit that button every time I start up.
I can set my climate controls like I want and it holds after a shut down.

I get it, I am used to the Pre-flight check list but I should have been given the option to permanently turn off the things I don't want.

I really like this mini truck and Its a keeper but still. FORD I do not need or want all this mothering.
I am not a younger. I like to think for myself without reminders.

I wish my EB had a locking gas filler door or at least a door that didn't open at the slightest touch. With a low bed that I often load things into over the side, I've inadvertently brushed against the door, causing it to pop open. If I don't catch it, it can remain open for days when I'm parked at home.

The EB has a push-to-open gas door? The Hybrid, you have to hit a button on the dash, the thing won't move unless you release it there? Didn't realize EB would be different, learn something new every day.

The lawyer's must think otherwise.
Unfortunately consumer vehicles are built to the lowest common denominator.
Back when Toyota implemented daylights driving lights. Couple times a month I would see the same lady driving to work at 4:00 in the morning, with only her daylight driving lights on. One morning I pulled up next to her and asked her. Why she doesn't turn her headlights on? She thought they were automatic headlights.
As I recall correctly, her headlight control was on one of the steering wheel stalks. It needed to be turned in order to turn on the headlights. That folks, is why we have reminders.

Lack of and the availability even as an option, of an auto dimming rear view mirror.
Agreed, yet the Bronco Outlander has both the homelink on the driver visor and an auto dimming rear view mirror. These two items you would think would be very easy to incorporate into the Maverick since the Bronco is very similar form and fit. What is the matter with Ford for not doing this on their higher end Mavericks, especially the Lariat. And bring back the factory keyless entry buttons on the door. The wire harness design is already in the 2022/23 builds so bring it back. The little outdoor battery one is okay until the battery dies and it is not replaceable. Excuse is supply chain issues that make a good argument for bringing back the manufacturing into the US.
