My one pet peeve is people calling the Maverick a "trucklet" !
It is a compact/mid size truck; and the only truck made that still fits me and my garage!![]()
That doesn't bother me at all. The term "Trucklet" goes back to at least the late 1970's or early 1980's when people used to refer to the small Datsun & Toyota trucks as "Trucklets". Heck, I've even heard people call the Jeep Gladiator a "Trucklet" based on it's small bed I guess and the Jeep guys don't seem to get upset over it.I hate that phrase, too. Americans have been taught to think anything smaller than the current F-150 is small. The Maverick is a mid-sized truck that's larger than some older F-150, F-100 full-sized trucks.
ChevyS-10s, Chevy LUV, old Ford Rangers, Mazda B-2000, Isuzu pickup trucks were "small."
I've had both people I know and don't know tell me to get a real truck and I usually respond with "I love my "Trucklet". It's just a funny term. I'm easy going though and don't get offended easily.
