There is a price difference of almost $2600 between an XL and an XLT with nothing added. The only difference I see is wheels, rear armrest drink holders, change in color of certain pieces and the ability to add options. Is there anything significant I missed? I was considering upgrading order to an XLT but don’t see the value. Either one would be no options other than CP360 and hitch.

that's how i ended up with an XL..
my must have option was co-pilot 360, which was still an option at the highest trim level.
and when added to the XL it added power mirrors at no extra cost. 2.5 years later and i still think i made the right choice for me.

I wanted 360 and it wasn't initially offered on the XL so went with XLT and then to a Lariat and back to a XLT. Agree the XLT is a lot more money for few options but it should have better resale value. If you compare the XLT to the Lariat there are even more options. It's all about personal choice not necessarily the money.
Value wise the XL is the winner but...................... :p.

The bells and whistles will not translate in to dollars at resale. I have two xl and with nothing on them and i am happy with that.

CP360 was always available to order on the XL.

I initially ordered the unicorn XL hybrid (but Ford told me I'd never get it, so I switched to EB and have no regrets)

I avoided XLT specifically because I did not like the acid wash denim jean seats and bright orange interior accents.

Then with the Tremor (and BAP) package my hand was forced and it became a matter of XLT v. Lariat and I didn't find the value in the Lariat package for $5,500 (I know some do and they love their bells and whistles).

When I lost my poverty pony (XL Hybrid) for me then it became a matter of getting a power drivers seat, heated seats, leather wrapped heated wheel, and (now defunct) keypad and windshield de-icer.

I qualified for X-plan and my dealer honored all of the price protections I had dating back to Oct. 2021 but I only paid $31,300 for my XLTremor + Lux.

I do agree - XLT on it's own above wheels just gets you access to the Lux package. Ford does this with various different models (Broncos for example).

Yes this has already been discussed many times.

If you are ordering a base XLT then no is doesn't make a lot of sense over the XL. The benefit of going to the XLT lies in the ability to add options not available on the XL like the luxury package, FX4 package, Tremor package, and several more.

I ordered the XL with AWD, 4k tow and CP360. I felt the XLT price difference wasn't worth it after the 2024 price increases. The only thing I wanted was the alloy wheels and I was able to buy a set of XLT takeoffs from a member here.

Dear OP. Whatever you decide, the rest of us will invest great emotional energy explaining why you were wrong. So I'll just save everyone some time here...

  • If you buy the XL you are a cheapskate loser.
  • (this is me) If you buy the XLT, you are an foolish money-wasting sucker playing into the hands of Ford Marketing.
  • If you buy the Lariat you are putting lipstick on a pig
  • If you buy the hybrid you are a fool for not buying the ecoboost.
  • If you buy the ecoboost you are a fool for not buying the hybrid.
I think the basic takeaway from these threads is that you should always choose walking.

Cruise Control. I wanted the XL, but Cruise is only available with the XLT or Lariat. Almost $3K for a $200 option, but that's what I had to pay.

No Value in the XLT, plus XL gives you free black cloth. All the reason I needed to order an XL.

That was 2022. All Mavericks have Cruise from 2023 and up.
