Had both. Sold the XLT because I wanted awd (had a hybrid w lux). Took the $6k profit and bought XL eco awd 4k tow. Love it but miss the better mileage. Also power mirrors were nice…

First I think it's 2500, 23815 vs 26315 if I remembered correctly. It is hard not having a brochure to visualize the differences or an item chart with x showing what is included. I personally think Ford should do more to make it better for consumers trying to decide which trim and options they want and especially with low or no inventory for buyers to order. Now I don't have the answers but just like yourself I had to research and because the changes made from 22, 23 and 24 model years makes it even more difficult. Anyway I will try to list the advantages or what you gain. Please research to make sure it's correct I'm not guaranteeing that this is true or correct or that I might have forgotten some items as well. There is a price difference of almost $2600 between an XL and an XLT with nothing added. The only difference I see is wheels, rear armrest drink holders, change in color of certain pieces and the ability to add options. Is there anything significant I missed? I was considering upgrading order to an XLT but don’t see the value. Either one would be no options other than CP360 and hitch.
Exactly what I was going to type. It just had a better chance of getting scheduled. When production was a bit tighter, some of us went with XLT (and switched to EB) simply to get the truck scheduled.
So easy to add it via Forscan though!Cruise Control. I wanted the XL, but Cruise is only available with the XLT or Lariat. Almost $3K for a $200 option, but that's what I had to pay.
Mostplus. It. Was inexpensive, water tight and fits well. I think around $140.Like those wheel covers! What model bed cover is on the HPRed?
And thank you on the wheel covMostplus. It. Was inexpensive, water tight and fits well. I think around $140.

You bring up some good points. In consolidation -First I think it's 2500, 23815 vs 26315 if I remembered correctly. It is hard not having a brochure to visualize the differences or an item chart with x showing what is included.....
Have power mirrors in my XL, but rarely use them.Had both. Sold the XLT because I wanted awd (had a hybrid w lux). Took the $6k profit and bought XL eco awd 4k tow. Love it but miss the better mileage. Also power mirrors were nice…
XL Tailgate locks, but only with a Key.You bring up some good points. In consolidation -
- Locking rear tailgate
- Power mirrors
- Cruise (only applicable to 2022)
- Upgraded interior (seats, materials, orange accents)
- Wheels and tires
- Flex bed
- Ability to add Lux package and sunroof (2023+)
As MTC has shown, pretty much everything but the power mirrors and the interior accents can be added to an XL should someone want it - but they would not likely be able to do it for the $2,500 upcharge to XLT.
I also did not want CP360 (I like my blind spot mirrors) but for those who wanted power mirrors they had to opt for CP360 which eats into the difference by $650.
That's really the wonderful thing about the Maverick. There is a bowl of porridge for just about everyone.XL Tailgate locks, but only with a Key.
My XL has power mirrors (CP360 option)
XL has cruise since the end of 2022.
Blue/Gray interior is a downgrade to me. Like the black better.
I upgraded to 18" Alum wheels I like for $250.
Added 4 additional Stainless Tie downs for $5.
No need for Lux, and Sunroof takes away headroom.
CP360, Nicer Wheels and Tie downs cost me $905. A hell of a lot better deal than the XLT package, which I would've replaced those wheels anyway. Ordering the XLT I would've had to order the BAP for another $1500 to get rid of the blue seats.
I think at resale people don't care what you paid ,they only care how little they can get the truck for and bells and whistles come second. Example used maverick xl 25,000 or xlt 27,600.XL vs XLT is a bit of a tossup for me. Not huge benefits to the XLT, but having to buy wheels out of pocket vs financing it once is an issue. Also MSRP is a big factor in resale. It seems to be exactly what is looked at on used Mavericks and how much above or below the MSRP it will sell for based on condition, mileage, etc. That said if you are planning to move on in a short time the cost to upgrade to XLT is very little.
I started doing a little rideshare on the weekends, and getting 43-49 mpg around town. Posted a poll in an Uber group, and out of 50 responses only one other driver gets 44-50mpg regularly. Very happy with my hybrid. That's really the wonderful thing about the Maverick. There is a bowl of porridge for just about everyone.
@Scott Asheville had a slightly more sarcastic take on it, but I really do hope everyone who has bought their Maverick enjoys the trim level and drivetrain they choose otherwise they made a big investment in something that isn't enjoyable or fun for them to drive.
By no means am I kicking dirt on an XL, or a hybrid - as I wanted one for 18 months until I was told to switch to EB and I went Tremor.
