I average 42mpg in the mountains of WNC. Last year I drove to central FL to go fishing with my brothers. I averaged 75mph on the interstate and got 34mpg. MPG drops as speed increases, and the cycle of climbing and descending hills also give mpg a boost.
I know a guy in my little town who is a...
That's great!
I bought my Volt used with 29K miles on it, and the rear brakes were completely gone. I've put 100K on it since then, but I have no idea how much is left. I rarely drive the Volt because the Mav is more cimfortable.
I hope this is helpful.
It's easier to understand if you've owned/driven an EV or a PHEV. You've likely noticed the % charged message when you come to a stop. That represents how much braking has recharged the battery. You may also notice the "Electric" message which means the truck us running...
I've tried both. I didn't notice much of an MPG increase with hightest. I don't notice much improvement with Economy mode either, but if I use towing or slippery, I do notice a decrease.
I am building water storage for my hobby farm. Here is Goose (Goose the Maverick, my idea of a joke) hauling two IBCs 75 miles home to my place. I noticed that my MPG dropped from 44 to 35 on the trip back. The little rascal is more aerodynamic than I thought, and the "totes" sure disrupted the...
I know it seems counter intuitive- using the defroster should only use heat. However, as I recall, most vehicles rung the A/C to dehumidify the air that then goes thru the heater coils. I too watch defrost cut MPG.
I ordered a 2022 in 2021. Ford cancelled that order and converted it to a '23 which I took delivery of in April 2023. I have 38K on it now.
I still love it but am waiting for a shoe to drop.
I live in Macon County WNC (2 counties from Cherokee Co.) and I see them all over the place now. I waited 18 months for the '22 XLT I ordered which was converted to a '23. I ordered one without test-driving it because they were so rare 2 years ago. Now they always have at least one on the lot...
I notice a 5mpg drop in economy when it gets cold and I do not run the heater. Battery efficiency, tire rigidity, lots of factors. The same happened with my Volt. It gets worse when I use the heater a lot, but not as much as you are reporting. Where you at?
I am with you. I waited 20 years for Honda to make a Ridgeline Hybrid. The Maverick was it. I can live without the AWD, but if Ford ever makes the Mav a PHEV, I'm trading! In the meantime, I have chains for the ice (but we haven't had ice in years). I have a tractor if I get stuck on the farm...
LOL- I was going to say the exact same thing- the Mav is noisier than my Volt! I don't know about wind deflectors for wind noise. I installed them to let me crack my windows and have the rain stay out. I guess that would make them rain deflectors.
I think they are slightly noisier than before...
Wish me luck. Being on a fixed income, I tried some $85 tires from Wallyworld-
Crossmax CHTS-1 Highway 225/65R17 102H SUV/Crossover Tires @$85 each. They have a great all-weather tread and low rolling resistance. I'm a little nervous about their tread life, but four were $367 installed with...
After 20 months of driving, I have 32000 miles on my 2023. My experience is very similar. While my wife would rather not drive the truck, it is the first truck she likes riding in ('02 RAM Quad cab, '07 Tacoma 4 door).
It should be pretty simple. Put your MP3 files on a thumb drive. Plug the drive into the USB port on the dash just to the lower left of the center near the console. After it is installed, on the radio, select "Sources" and you should see the USB drive listed. The interface isn't great, but it works.
I myself was torn. I do not buy extended warranties ever. It's my thing- they are usually a rip-off that just pads the pockets of the company and dealer. However, After I placed my order, I heard all the horror stories about "work arounds" for parts shortages (plywood rounds for suspension...
