Wrong I did state facts, Simple stated there are less parts on the hybrid engine, I did not state that it was superior, I just stated there is less parts to fail. Simple facts, They are both good power plants. I did not come out swinging that this was some dick measuring contest, I just stated facts, simple answer. Both are Fords trust me I almost bought the Eco boost AWD and I own one in a Bronco Sport. They both fit different objectives. But I stated facts from experience of 40 years around autos and trucks

I agree. I simply won't tolerate it is the difference. And that's half the reason I feel the need to clarify why the Hybrid actually is a great choice when I call them out on the hypocrisy. If they made one in AWD/Tremor the majority agree it's what they would have - as evidence in this thread clearly shows.

The jury is not out on the issues as we know them to exist though. It's not to early to tell. One has major engine recalls and the other doesn't which is a deciding factor for a good percentage of people as well.

It's just sad it needs to be spelled out in crayon this way.

I've laughed at many of your posts before. It's the way you insert yourself and now are trying to backpaddle playing the victim about it. Clarify what your intent is early on and stop trolling. The jury is not out, there is no "long term data" and you know this as proof of your following posts, so why post that way to begin with? Hybrid specific issues are well known amongst these forums and elsewhere and maintenance with the EB's is too. That is what we know. We clearly agree about the majority - but I disagree with the way you chose to insert yourself into this discussion. Sadly, that's fairly common with the comments you leave that I don't enjoy. Take care sprubs. Just know I don't hold a grudge. I'll still laugh with you moving forward.

There are 1,000 different ways you could have tactfully inserted yourself into this discussion, but you chose the worst way. You came in stating "facts" that simply don't exist and are non factual. You don't like forums because you don't know how to conduct yourself. Thanks for stopping by.
No back pedaling here. I was just pointing out that reliability isn't really proven out yet. All of the other stuff can be pretty easily compared.

Sorry I've offended you. That wasn't my intent.

Welcome to the MTC forums Jamie. Sorry you got yourself involved in a skirmish before your 15th posts. Feel free to continue to share facts. However, the majority of us in this thread are probably going to continue sharing what helped us to decide on an ecoboost purchase/order.

I have a 2022 Fx4, I have yet to receive an Ecoboost related recall, period.
What are the common complaints/issues with the Ecoboost? And the older 1.6 EB was a troubled child and not relevant to the Maverick.

I thought the saleman asked me if I wanted "Eco boobs".

I wasn't sure what that even meant, but it turned out it was nothing liked I'd hoped it meant.
Too bad it was a sales Man😉

Hybrid guy here, but I'd easily say:
AWD
4k tow
faster stock and easily modded
hwy cruising mpg at high speeds is pretty good

(for our use case, only thing I'd really like is AWD -would be useful for occasional dirt roads and snow)
I say you hit the nail on the head for all points. That's exactly why I bought the EB sans 4K tow which I didn't need, just got FX4.

I understand the wait list for the "Eco Boobs" is a long one. 😁

For me it was towing and the type of driving I do. I don't do a lot of city driving (or that much driving in general). The highway mpgs aren't that much better on the hybrid. Plus I drove both and preferred the Ecoboost. It's really peppy and I felt like it handled better - maybe due to the AWD on the vehicle I drove.

I doubt that, The 2.5 L is simpler, has no direct inj, no turbos, no belts. The trans is simpler also.
Yes but you also added a ton of complexity to the drivetrain with two separate drivetrain power sources.

Reliability we can debate all day, and honestly, I don't care. I've bought around 8-10 brand new vehicles in the past 2 decades and exactly one has ever had a major powertrain failure.

Capability is no debate. You get less of a truck in several meaningful ways with a hybrid, but if it's still enough truck for you and you want vastly superior city fuel economy, get a hybrid.

If you enjoy accelerating very slowly, driving 5-10 mph under the limit and micro-managing your mpg like it's a video game high score, go for it. If I had a hybrid I'd just drive it like the basic transportation that it is.

You're buying a unibody "truck" - why not get the FWD with 40+ mpg? The act of purchasing a Maverick shows that you are fine with "less of a truck".

that's answered right here: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/why-the-ecoboost.39894/page-2#post-713413

of course I'm ok with less truck. parking alone makes an F150 or SD very undesirable for me, and besides towing >4k and going offroad, I'm not sure I would agree that a Ranger is more truck than a Maverick.
