Not bad and kinda-sorta true.

Except the bottom is 1250 and the top end is 5600. I've measured.

But it's also a horsepower gauge.
The first tick mark: 10% is really 19 horsepower : EV or ICE. The next, 20% is 38 horsepower; and so on.

Ya all have figured out by now you have to really baby it to stay all electric right? And you've noticed this is in the 10% and less zone, right?

That is what 19 horsepower feels like.
There is a 22 electric horsepower limit in EV. I've never seen more. The EV power limit is set, presumably, to keep enough power headroom to start the ICE at the same time the battery is propelling you.
So 50% engine power would be about 2,800 RPM's. We've taken it up to 50% a few times over the last year. I know that's pushing it hard, but it was going uphill, not much we could do about it, the canyon between Brigham city and Logan can be a little nasty, especially in the winter.

But overall, we try to baby it.

I would not call it linear.
But ballpark.
It is a power meter.
In early pre-production units the same gauge was labeled kW. Watt of course, is a unit of power and most countries list engines in kW rather than horsepower. Because, ya know, horses come in different sizes. 😎

Everyone realizes that the hybrid goes to 11, right?

10% over 100% power by the looks of the gauge. That's an engineering feat. All coaches should be so happy to find a vehicle that can give 110%.
At first I was thinking, WTF???
Mine goes to 150%.

Looks like two variants of the same gauge are out there.

XL and XLT go to 150% (not really).

While Lariats only go to 110%. 😉
