Most people likely do in modern cars, GPS units built into vehicles suck, because you have to pay for map updates, which is stupid.
Well that’s the way I see it but maybe I missing something. I guess I couldn’t care less if there is no built in GPS. As for the key pad well I have it but really don’t use it but yeah I think that’s one they should have kept.

But don’t most people prefer using Apple or Google maps anyway?
I recently had a really nice rental car for work, I tried using the built in nav but it was absolute trash. Waze is so much better

I had built in nav in my 2016 Mazda CX5 with no access to CarPlay and it wasn’t nearly as user friendly.

You have a Lariat with the smart key so yeah the keypad is, less important. I used it often with the XLT when I don't have easy access to the key fob.

Right very understandable. It should have been retained. I can even see scenarios where I would use it but just haven’t to this point. Nice option to have at least.

Never have used the keypad, never will. An extra cost item I never use. I've used the built-in nav on my truck and the last three vehicles. Free updates for three years and works great. Since I don't keep my vehicles longer than three years works out just right.

I use Android Auto because I have to now. I'm not a fan of it. The only way to stop it from recommending trips to me is to force Google to not remember anything - and I mean ANYTHING - I search for. The settings are awful. Some vehicles are coming with google maps right out of the gate now which is nice. But Android Auto is meh at best and I think that's being nice about it. It's really personal preference. I chose to mount my phone near the head unit for quick access and a direct connection since wireless/BT is also a disaster in these trucks. I have a magnet on the outside of my case for mounting it and not really into wireless charging. I like being able to hit the google voice search button on my phone and have the search results come up because the Android Auto one and navigating it is also sometimes pretty crappy. A couple spots I go for pick up in town that I don't care to save numbers in my phone are easily accessible this way - where as when I tried it with Android Auto the results were garbage. But I do agree that paying a subscription for use of GPS is a joke and someone should be shot for implementing it.

As for the keypad I'm surprised how many times I've been outside without my keys and wanted access to my truck. Makes it nice and easy. Never had one before and I definitely enjoy having it now.
