Why are there no fog lights?

My buddy's off road shop gave me a amber/white dual color 20x1 inch light bar. Removed the Vertical plastic bars in bottom grill with side cutters. 1 black stainless bolt each bracket to bottom valance. Very secure no movement of light offload or at 100mph. Wire in dual relays one for each color. Put dual rocker switch in bottom plastic below dash. Wired hot to relays from battery and switch on power to side marker. Start to finish 2 hours. Easy peasy

I decided to do this because one of his customers he installed the After market set up. Three hundred dollars for the lights three hundred for the install. Removing the bumper , cutting the holes , installing the plates. It looks very factory. But the light output On the highway was a joke. So I went this route. I gave him 40$ for the light and 40$ for the dual relay set up.

Or do I need a second set of glasses. My eyes are not what they used to be!
Why are they spots on the lower bumper for them but not offered.
I hate Mickey Mousing or adding wires on a new vehicle.

I doubt fog lights would help much with such nice powerful low beams.
OP, for real, when I got my eyes fixed it was like turning up the brightness and color. That also reduced glare to nothing.
Seriously get your eyes checked.
I’m in fog often and my second car, my Escape has fog lights.
it needs them because it’s a 2004 model.
My 2024 2.0L AWD Lariat does not.
Do all the models even the XL have the same head lights as mine ?

Fog lights are disappearing for good reasons. The most important one is that in general, people here have no idea when , why or how to use them. They are meant to be used in bad fog and with only the parking lights. A low short range beam to identify the edge of the road as you crawl your way along.

Instead, people think they are a fashion statement, leave them on all the time, replace the bulbs with 6000k light scattering leds to 'match' the blue bulbs they put in the headlights. The worst is the few cars left here that have rear fogs, they leave them on all the time so it looks like they're braking constantly. I say good riddance.

Well, then you'd be shocked. The difference the amber light bar makes twelve inches off the ground compared to the white lights three foot above. And this maverick is being driven from the valley to lake arrowhead every day.

If Diode Dynamics can add them as aftermarket accessories for the hybrid, Ford could have added them to the initial build. . . and for a much cheaper price too.

This right here. I was heading home around 9pm one day and the sedan across the intersection from me had "fog" lights on that were painfully bright white monstrosities. There was no fog and it was in a brightly lit town. I flashed them a few times and they flashed back to show that they didn't have their high beams on...

Ahem. I have found the handheld 1,000 lumen spotlight I keep in my center console useful for many, many things on the road.

Thank you I saw that Cherokee. I really don't believe the manufacturers drive in the mountains. My wife won't even drive the raptor if there's any fog. With the high mounted pure white lights on that truck. She cannot even see the white line. Considerably safer if she was rear-ended. But delivery semi trucks have very poor rear taillights. That scares her in fog.

I hear ya drevil, what you describe she sees was me with cataracts.
I’ve used proper fog lights. They helped a little in the daytime but my ten year old eyes see no use for them with my 2024 Lariat head lights.

Good to hear you got your vision corrected. My sister is actually a surgeon for cataracts that kaiser. People tell her all a time.It's a miracle.
