There is a picture floating around on another thread of the rear seat folded. It does not fold flat and all the exposed wiring is out behind the seat. Plus I don't think there is any solid backing on the seat backs, just loose fabric. You would probably have to DIY a solid back for the seats and then a cover for all the wiring. Even then, it still doesn't fold flat... Missed opportunity by Ford for additional functionality to the rear seat.
Missed opportunity for Ford. DYI opportunity for me- looking forward to it. And, there's a company that makes a kit that turns the window into a hatch. Lots of possibilities.

Best thing about the sliding rear window is it prevents you from breaking the glass when you load long items from the bed into the cab...

I found judicious application of silicone spray made for quieter and smoother operation.
I'm referring to the sliding glass window, you creeps.

I'm more worried that it would cause potential issues rather than being useful.

It could be a source of cabin noise due to having two parts instead of one solid one.
Mechanism breaking down due to moisture getting in or the constant open and close.
And there's the security issue as well. I'll let you be creative with what could possibly go wrong
I think you're overthinking it. I have used mine on my F150 to put a really long piece of trim board through that I bought rather than have it hang out the tailgate. They are pretty flimsy and light enough that it didn't damage the window. Plus the airflow like others have said.

Opted for it for two reasons. My Dodge has nasty cavitation in the cab if you open a rear door window without the slider cracked open. Bad enough your ears hurt and eyes start watering. Didn't want to not be able to crack all four door windows.

We get over 100 degrees here in summer. Opening the rear slider with door windows cracked makes a huge difference when coming out of a store.

Sucks it's not powered on XLT. I damn near optioned for Lariat for just that reason.

It seems like those rear windows are so small they wouldn't be useful for anything. Convince me otherwise :D
When you need to toss your beer can you can throw it through the back window into the bed so you don't litter...

sorry if mentioned already...I glanced through 3 pages and didn't see it...

In the summer here in Fresno the interiors of vehicles easily get over 120 degrees in direct sun. Keeping the window open all the time will help with cab overheating and interior material degradation.

We typically crack the windows but that makes it a lot easier for a thief to be tempted. The small rear slider won't have the same temptation.

As mentioned, some want cracked windows for dogs to breath. Around here, if windows are closed in the summer, passersby have the legal right to smash windows to save the pet.

I never used them on my F150s so I did not order it on my maverick.
