What did your maverick replace?

2001 Ford Ranger. I waited over 20 years for them to build a pickup that was the right size for me. I load my bikes, my kayak, and occasional yard or two of mulch or yard waste.
i was surprised how much I was able to sell the Ranger for.

Our Maverick is going to replace a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, 3.6 VVT with 115K plus. Still runs very good. Had a Dodge Journey AWD and loved it. And it was good in snow, Caravan not so much. Gas mileage was good on the highway, maybe 25mpg if I did not push it. I do 80mph + on turnpike or any x-way. But only 16-17mpg in town.

My Maverick replaced my 2018 F-150 Raptor.

I got a ton of weird looks doing the swap but the truck was getting expensive to maintain as it aged. $4,000 in cam phaser replacement, $2,500 in rear differential repair, $1,000 high pressure fuel pump failure, etc. That was all in one year.

I ran a successful social media account for the raptor with 18,000 followers at its peak and numerous sponsors like Diode Dynamics, Stek, RCI Offroad, Stainless Works Exhaust…list goes on. Over $30,000 in modifications.

I sometimes miss the raptor as it was fully loaded and my Maverick as an XLT. But I no longer have out of warranty worries. And we’re planning to add either an GT350 or GT500 mustang to the garage in addition!

What did you drive before the maverick? I replaced a 2016 f250 supercab long bed gas. Just wondering how diversified the maverick community is. Because the maverick can play alot of roles in the automotive world. I see people get out of Priuses , trucks, suvs, minivans. I bought mine because I needed a daily that could haul a boat ,camper small stuff. Superduty was nice when towing the stuff I have didn't even know it was there. But I first a Formost I needed a daily driver for a 60 mile round trip. My Maverick has filled that slot perfectly. What's your story?

I had a 2014 Toyota Prius "C" that i bought in 2016 with 22K miles. I gave it to my son when my Maverick showed up in December 2023. It had 93K on it and he had just hit a deer and totaled his 2015 Sentra (with 28K on it). I was going to trade it in on the Maverick but he needed wheels so it worked out fine. That Toyota was the best car i ever owned. One set of front brakes, oil changes and tires. That's it. He loves it too. It should go at least 250-300K with proper care. I used to get 65MPG in the summer with it.

if we could have gotten a hybrid Explorer (we were told available to LE only) we would have gone with that. Miss some bells and whistles but mostly love our Maverick.

A 1998 K2500 6.5 turbodiesel with 312k on her. Wanted to downsize to the occasional dump and lowes- home Depot run and still get diesel MPG with a gasser ( that I don't need to worry about starting when it's cold outside )
