  1. My FORD dealer closing

I’ve lived in a rural, now semi-rural area for forty years. It was always a toss up if I drove 35 miles NW or E for service. When I drove east after a twelve hour shift, I could curl up on a couch and catch some sleep.. Small dealership, mostly trucks. Skilled diagnosticians - the mechanics...
  2. No card slit in console.

We are like the Little Engine That Could - especially when some deisel lifted 4x4 with running boards at our window height tries to intimidate us at a traffic light.. We are small but we are mighty!
  3. Does the A/C in the 2024 Mav Lariat actually get cold?

The AC works great. So much so that I get lazy about putting the sun screen in the windshield. The seats? They could use some cooling.....
  4. What did your Maverick replace or is it your first?

We have a Pelican cooler which was perfect for Costco in our Explorer but our tonneau doesn't quite clear. Someone needs to make an awesome cooler for the Maverick which hides under a tonneau.
  5. What did your Maverick replace or is it your first?

I had a '15 F-250 and my son had a '15 Expedition. Multiple cancers wiped out my road tripping with horses ambitions and insurance got expensive so we downsized to a single Explorer. In '21 leased another Explorer and when the lease was expiring hoped for a hybrid Explorer or F-150. Then I...
  6. Lane Keep Assist not centered in lane is this normal ?

Our '21 Explorer favored the right side of the lane. With modern cars and trucks there aren't any really good visual markers on the hood that you could line up with the left lines on the road as many older vehicles had. It might also have something to do with how your roads are canted; in the...
  7. My least favorite thing about my Maverick..

Why is it needed at all? If I'm backing up, I already know that I am in my truck and don't need a little picture to remind me. I hate anything that takes up screen real estate.
  8. Disable 2025 Hybrid External Speaker?

Just plan ahead and don't back up.
  9. How far is front floorboard from the ground in '23 Maverick?

What my PT taught me when i had my explorer which was higher - put the seat down and back, then back in. I don’t need to do that with my Maverick. But I still move the seat diwn and back in case my son, who is much taller and larger than me, drives it next.
  10. Matchbox vs Hot Wheels Mavericks

Wow ! I could imagine the corn and wheat growing. Well worth every minute you’ve put i to it. And think of the N-scale Mavericks hauling stuff around (to keep the thread on topic).
  11. Matchbox vs Hot Wheels Mavericks

Nice. Actually awesome! And those look like Ford tractors. :)
  12. Matchbox vs Hot Wheels Mavericks

Doesn’t it depend on the gauge of your model trains?
  13. Taking a moment - Hail damage on 3 week old 2024 Maverick Lariat

I feel your pain. In 2015 I had a brand new F-250 and my son had just gotten an Expedition We had them about a week when a summer hail storm heavily damaged both. The repairs went fine but sure took away that special “new” feeling.
  14. DeepSleep Permanent FIX???? Where is it?

i stand corrected - I wasn’t aware. I never had one until 2021 and thought it was part of an upgrade trim.
  15. DeepSleep Permanent FIX???? Where is it?

Got along without backup cameras for over 60 years and never backed into anything (including when pulling 36’ trailer). So why does Ford have their panties in a wad over not having the fix yet? Even with cameras you need to still check surroundings and use mirrors.
  16. CV Axle Snap -- my fault?

Possibly to be able to use them for their build inventory? Of course I'm not certain as it was mentioned among other issues on a tariff-dstock market related news article.
  17. Slit in Center Console 2025 Mav Hybrid?

I didn’t trust it so I measured the depth with some cardboard. It leaves just enough of a credit card out to grab so it’s not a total bottomless pit.
  18. CV Axle Snap -- my fault?

I just heard on the morning news that Ford (and other auto makers) are hoarding parts in anticipation of new supply chain issues.
  19. Window Tint & traveling across country via I-40 and back via I-10.

One of the issues on a cross country trip is being blinded by the sun. what we’ve found helpful are temporary sun shades - stick on or retractable - to use as needed. Amazon has a variety as do auto shops, Walmart, etc.https://www.amazon.com/car-window-shade/s?k=car+window+shade Our Explorer...
  20. Is Ford built in navigation available on 2025 Maverick XLT?

My previous couple of Gord trucks had navigation i used once in a while but then Ford wanted some ridiculous amount to a) ipdate local maps and b) out of area maps for travel. As soon as it was available I use Apple maps on carplay.
