2024 XLT Hybrid (Atlas Blue)
65133 Miles (as I write this)
Biggest issues (2):
1. The braking system remains inconsistent. Sometimes it's easier to predict the 'regen' breaking than other times, occasionally producing a 'jerk' breaking event.
2. Google maps (on the center screen) makes very...
2024 XLT Hybrid...
Just turned over 64k miles this morning. Really wish I'd gotten the ceramic coating (lots of rock chips), spray-in bed liner (scraped paint in the bed), and wax/lanolin under coating (after two winters, so far). Still love the truck; economy, utility, comfort, style.
Mine was the first Maverick I sat in and drove. The last of the 'slow production batches', I waited 519 days from the original order date. It was worth the wait. 🙂
Enjoy your Maverick, congrats.
* If you bought the hybrid... Just ignore the snap, crackle, and pop noises of your parked (turned off) Maverick.
* Folks have been crabbing about the extra cubby beside the center screen (if you bought yours used), but I use mine for business cards. The bottom of the cubby lined with felt...
Yeah see... I just tried that wireless adaptor (for Android Auto) on my XLT hybrid, and it didn't work at all. Must've tried pairing it 15 times or more; nothin'.
I agree... The new front end design has grown on me. I like the light signature at night also. Removing the 'Hybrid' badge, and the rear seat armrest didn't seem to make much sense tho. 🤷🏼♂️
I still like my '24 XLT. I like the atlas blue, but I wish it didn't have the orange interior...
I'm a volunteer driver so yeah, I've taken as many as three other people with me. They could all have walkers, and those fit in the bed. My previous vehicle (an Escape) couldn't have done that on it's best day.
I was shopping for a Ranger when the Maverick was announced... The Maverick turned...
The Maverick is as long as the Ford Explorer (Ford's mid sized SUV). So I'm guessing they're stretching the size class a bit (in marketing) because of that. But if it were official then the Maverick would easily have the worst towing spec of any mid sized truck. Put simply, the Ranger is Ford's...
These were pretty much the only ones Discount Tire sold for the Maverick:
- Nokian Encompass AW01 (All Weather) 225/65 R17
- Mileage at purchase: 24,260
I've noticed about 1-2 mpg less with these tires, but I can still hyper-mile a trip very easily (still getting 45 to 50 mpg off highway)...
I've put a lot of miles on my Maverick ever since I got it. My factory Continental's lasted just under 25k miles. The Nokian's I replaced them with are still going strong in almost as many miles, and they're way better in ice and snow.
I heard that Ford did a marketing study with the not yet released Maverick pickup. They offered a few different names and 'Maverick' was the most popular.
But yeah, I agree that the auto companies get themselves into a pickle with names sometimes. Don't get me started on 'Lumina' vs. 'Lumina...
It's like the difference between velocity blue and Atlas blue... Just this side of orange from yellow. To me, cyber orange was school bus yellow all day long.

Hope that helps.
Mine is a logo for some kind of sports/recreation outfitter. Took a good deal of searching to find that one. It accentuates the unique geometry of the bird, which is what I especially like. 🙂
