What did you drive before the Maverick?

Had a 2013 Honda CRZ wrecked it at 250k. Great little car unappreciated in the US. 42 MPG. Not one thing ever went wrong with it.

If you've got a back blade for your tractor - especially one with the "scarifier" blades (little plow-like devices that extend downward) - you can really help your driveway out by running a few passes with the scarifiers in the "down" position to being all the gravel back to the surface. The process also gets rid most of the "hump" in the center of the gravel road. After that, several passes with the back blade to smooth things back down, and a few more passes using the tractor tires to pack it down evenly will do wonders to improve the road.

We had a 3/4 mile "private" road that my neighbor and I maintained that way. First couple of years we put around 8 large dump truck loads of rock on it. For the next 11 years, we just did what i described above. I was amazed the first time he talked me into trying it that way...

Thats pretty much the plan. This driveway was only cut about 6 years ago, before that it was just a steep hillside. The tractor is a old 1963 Ford 4000 front loader. I will be putting a blade of one kind or another on the rear for sure. But the driveway is so steep and gets so much water that it needs some rocky gravel packed into it otherwise it just gets slick. The good part is most of the gravel that washes out of it just ends up in my yard to be reclaimed and also smooth out my yard!

I still drive a 21 Hyundai Palisade and a brand new Ioniq 5. The maverick was supposed to replace my old Hyundai Sonata but it took a year to get and the Sonata ended up needing a new transmission so I bought the Ioniq 5 while I was waiting. Occasionally Ill drive the wife's Model X. The maverick is my toy shuttle.

2013 Jetta GLI Autobahn with a 6speed MT. It was a fun car, but full of issues. Drove her for 3 years and did some minor upgrades, but she had to go. 11,000 problem free miles on my Hybrid now, I am a happy camper

My 2014 Focus ST. Great all around car! Fun to drive, decent mpg, fairly large storage area being a hatchback.

1993 Mazda Miata LE. This was the only year and model of Miata to have red interior and only 1500 were produced. Also came factory with upgraded Bilstein suspension, BBS wheels, and limited slip differential. I really miss this fun little car, especially with how the prices of these have shot up lately..

Well.... I was going to trade our 2006 Volvo XC90 in until a yellow Ford Mustang decided to turn in front of my wife. Police cited him at 100% his fault. She hit him at 55MPH, completely tore off the front of his car, which in turn, pushed her into a light pole. Good thing is, she's OK and the insurance is paying out triple what my dealership would have given us for trade in value.

You can see the Mustang grill and emblem imbedded in what's left of our front drivers side bumper, and that battery and alternator in the picture was part of his car as well. That yellow piece behind the back right tire is his front bumper.

My wife was going to need a new SUV after we traded this in, as we are going to give our Hyundai Elantra to our daughter when she gets her license soon. So... this moved up our timeline and I got her this 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid:

Yea the focus from what I hear was a bad vehicle

Not Mine. 2012 SE hatchback with Sport Option. One of the most trouble free cars I've owned. Good power with great fuel economy. Did many a state to state road trip with it. Comfortable highway car with plenty of passing power. I would have bought a Mk4 Focus if Ford didn't kill it for the US.

The color was Sterling Grey. Great color that sparkled in the sun. Got a lot of compliments on it. Ford should have kept that color.
