I checked the cost of the various deductibles and it became obvious which way for me to go. When I went from $250 to $500 I saved $250/yr. If you can save the difference in the deductible every year it will certainly pay in the long run to raise the deductible. When I went to a $2,000 deductible I saved even more.

You need to look at what your actual savings will be for raising the deductible and then it should be easy enough to figure out what to do.
