What changes to Maverick engineering would you like for the next evolution?

A little more room in the back seat. The back is really not suitable for 2 adults. Yes, they can sit there but not comfortably, expecially if you have to drive some distance. Going to the grocery store is OK, but other than that, I get the thumbs down.

Oh, and why does the Sync 3 system drop my calls intermittantly ? I accept a call and within a few minutes Sync 3 hands it back to the speaker on my phone. !@#$%

Gadgets, gew-gaws, body shape, electronics, engine systems; anything.

Personally, I'd like the driver height to be another 6" taller (eye level off the road), via increased seat height and accompanying raised interior ceiling height. Mainly to allow a more comfortable "bus driver" sitting posture for long drives, instead of the low-to-the-floor, legs sticking out in front posture used now.

Of COURSE an available 6' minimum bed length via shortened passenger cab that just has front seats and a small space behind them.

Door bottle holders that actually work.
2.0 Turbo diesel & a 7 spd transmission ... haha

6" longer bed, adjustable center armrest.

Offer a Platinum trim with BlueCruise, vented seats, Android Automotive, and active dampening suspension. Maybe even a V6 (since the engine bay is more than large enough).

Basically, give those of us willing to splurge a little a nicer option without having to go up to a larger truck. Since we got the Expedition, I don't actually need anything larger than the Maverick but there are definitely some creature comforts that are missing from the model.

I really like to see rain sensing wipers, an auto dimming rear view mirror, Homelink/garage door opener, power adjustable passenger seat with power lumbar, Fog Lamps on the higher trims standard and optional on the lower trims. I feel the AM/FM antenna should be integrated into the body the way Dodge, Toyota and Honda are doing on their trucks and just do a painted shark fin for the Navigation/Satellite Radio. I also like the locking fuel door with the internal release found on the hybrid, I wish that was standard for all Mavericks.

The 360 camera system on the truck disappoints me in one way, I wish it showed you your blind spots on the screen when turning on your turn signal, my friends 2018 Honda Accord had that and this truck has the hardware to support that, I bet it could be added with a software update even to mine.

I would also like to see a more advanced hybrid system, I feel the current hybrid system should stick around for those looking for a more cost effective hybrid but another hybrid system that offers better performance and a bigger battery for a longer electric range would be welcomed. Something that can equal the 0-60 times of the 2.0L Ecoboost but give you the fuel economy of the current hybrid would be fantastic.

The Toyota hybrid system already offers this and since Ford has a long history with hybrids, I hope they're working on something that will meet and even beat Toyota.

Going back to the EcoBoost, I wish Ford Performance would support this 2.0L the way they support the 2.3L Ecoboost 4 cylinder found on the Ranger and Bronco. A $900 tune that gives you more power/torque without voiding the Ford warranty would be neat for those who want the additional power.

I would ask for other features added, like Ford's self driving system, the auto dimming side view mirrors and air-conditioned seats but I feel that's too much of an ask for a truck at this price, even as options, but the other features I mentioned aren't too much to ask for, especially since Ford jacked up the price on the Maverick.

Lastly, please design the damn bulkhead/side rails to guide water away from the bed and not into it for those of us with tonneau covers!

The Boomer package ;)
I know everyone needs to throw shade at the other generations these days. Jokingly, or not.

But, I also agree that seat bolstering is terrible on my Lobo, and the wheels & rubber should be wider on the Lobo too. For its purpose.

I understand that many humans may be too large to fit into bolstered seats, but the "Street performance" version should have seats that provide some support for when you go around a corner. If not specifically for the Driver.
Since that is sorta the purpose of the Lobo..to go around corners quickly (esp. at an AutoX track) after all.

The transition out of my Focus ST into the Lobo was shocking how they made no attempt at all to bolster the Lobo seats, considering its intent.

For a base model and Lariat package, I get it, make it easy to get in and out of..sure.

But, a manual trans should be higher on the list for this model.
I'm happy to see at least 2 others mention manual! lol

I'm surprised to see this. I have my seat all the way up and it sits vertical like a dining table chair. Any higher and I'd be too close to the headliner if I'm wearing a hat. I'm 5'10"

I found a way, from Settings on the steering wheel menu, that got it to knock off that kind of behavior. Plusses and minuses on that: the way I have it set now, remote start wouldn't have the thing cooling for me in the parking lot ahead of getting in. Will seek where that setting is kept for you.

Found it: on the steering wheel right lever button, go to

Settings > Vehicle Settings > Remote Start > Climate Control

and see your options.

However, might it be simpler? Mine has an 'Auto' button next to the fan speed dial; that's how I've kept A/C from automatically coming on.

I have mine all the way up and the back of my left leg near the front of the seat is more than an inch above touching the seat. And I still have a fist of clearance above my head. I'm the same height.
I notice my lower back aches a bit after driving the Mav for more than 3-4 hours, where it never hurts when driving my Transit(not Connect) with the bus driver style posture even all day long. Good thing I only do long drives maybe once a month!

This one is easy. I wish for two things. A) adaptive cruise optional on XL and XLT. B) better dash pad design to mitigate rattles.
