What changes to Maverick engineering would you like for the next evolution?

Quadruple the capacity of the hybrid battery.

Engine option of Fully electric AWD with Range Extender gas engine.

Pass-through rear cab to bed.
I would go for double capacity - even a 2.2kwh battery is relatively miniscule and with the increased power of the HF55 I'm very surprised they did not increase the battery size.

It is almost a given that the 2027 will have a much larger capacity built on a new platform/chasis aimed for hybrids.

Would really like to see a stick shift option. The Ford MMT6 would suffice well. Perhaps the 2.3L engine as an option on FX4, Tremor, and Lobo trucks.

Agree with others on a cab/bed configuration option, allowing for a longer bed and shorter cab (jump seats?! 👀)

From a software standpoint, there absolutely NEEDS to be screen options in the instrument cluster for numerical readouts of oil pressure and temp, coolant temp, transmission temp, voltage, RDU and PTU temps, and boost pressure. The ECM already has all of these parameters so it would take no time for a software engineer at Ford to add those pages into the menu.

Gadgets, gew-gaws, body shape, electronics, engine systems; anything.

Personally, I'd like the driver height to be another 6" taller (eye level off the road), via increased seat height and accompanying raised interior ceiling height. Mainly to allow a more comfortable "bus driver" sitting posture for long drives, instead of the low-to-the-floor, legs sticking out in front posture used now.

Of COURSE an available 6' minimum bed length via shortened passenger cab that just has front seats and a small space behind them.

Door bottle holders that actually work.
Less gadgets, for instance a manual parking brake. And, yeah, a SuperCab.

I've been a stick shift guy all my life (still have a 5-speed sports car and a 6-speed motorcycle) but that eCVT is the bomb. Buttery smooth and always the perfect rpm/speed combo.

Some sort of rear bulkhead pass-thru from the bed in order to occasionally carry longer objects.

I haven't checked yet if the Torque Pro app on my tablet will display on the Ford screen, but I hope it does.

Sounds like you'd rather have a Ranger. Or a minivan.

And if you think the Maverick is in any way "low to the floor" drive one of those old compact Ranger/S10s. By ditching the frame for a unibody with deeper floor the Maverick is already much more upright seating.
I agree. Raising the roofline 6" would make the Maverick look disproportionate to say the least. Can't have something for nothing. That's one reason why the Tacoma up until the 4th gen had a car-like seating position. It had a higher ride height compared to the Frontier, but that meant it had less floor-to-ceiling space in the cab, so the seats were low-slung.

YES! That too! #KeepLastState, it's not that hard!

Great example .... I stop the Mav with A/C OFF. I get in the Mav with the HVAC last set to mid/upper-70s, and it's 68F out. The Mav magically determines A/C should be ON. Grrrrr, I swear everytime I get in I have to hit the A/C button. C'mon Ford software engineers, #KeepLastState, it's not that hard!
They need to find a cheap way to add cooled seats and vents to the rear at least to the upper trims.

A pass-thru kit would work for me. If it required some welding, no problem.

Cruise control to stay on like GM does. Shut off the vehicle and turn it back on and you have to push the switch back on just something I liked about the way GM did the cruise control. Also ford could do a better job of integrating the steering wheel controls for cruise control as the buttons run to proud of the steering wheel as I occasionally hit the buttons accidentally when I hold the steering wheel in the 9 and 3 o’clock position.

Adaptive cruise control as a option by itself, that way I could add it (for X $) regardless of my trim level.

Vented seats, last used memory like other user said is common sense that should be there.

The pass through rear seat (just like the avalanche)

A more scratch resistant interior.

Fog lights as a option regardless of your trim level, same for the sunroof and power sliding rear window.

And please, please, please a trunk like the Ridgeline or santa cruz.

A PHEV version with 30+ miles of electric only range.
I would have really like this. Much of the benefit of an EV for local driving, but more freedom for road trips where I don't want to worry that I need to charge on the way, or immediately charge when I get to my destination.
Downside, of course, is more complexity, so more that can go wrong.

Cruise control button location. Buttons are on the opposite side as on my Toyota :)
