Hello,,
I am very close on closing on a 2025 Maverick and checked with State Farm about the insurance of a 2025 Maverick XL, AWD, Hybrid. Almost fell out of my chair when I received the quote. It was originally $ 284.77 and it was then reduced to $ 212.68 which is still very very expensive.
On my current policy with 2 cars (2018 Passat and a 1990 LS400) plus two motorcycles I pay less than that - also with the same State Farm agent. Of course they sent me the typical excuse about all of the safety features cost replacement etc.

Was wondering if this is a general issue with the Maverick or if State Farm is trying to take advantage of the situation? Would be interesting to know who much you guys pay on full coverage and a $ 500.00 deductible?

Thanks,
Mario
I live in the Portland Metro area. $284 is highway robbery! I pay less than $200 for full coverage for my 2024 Maverick hybrid and 2007 CRV, $500 deductible. We are a fairly expensive area to insure. I have Pemco and have gotten great service from them, too.

Not sure how your state works, but many states default to the youngest/worst driver as the primary on the most expensive car. You should be able to change that with your agent moving her to the lowest cost car.

Is that for all the vehicles? Per month? I use Gieco, have a New Buick Envision and the 2025 Maverick 300/100 full coverage, 500ded, $269/mo.
The $212.68 was just the amount for the add-on of the Maverick to the current vehicle and is based on per month.

I’m at about $250/month for my maverick and my wife’s Kia soul. But it’s Florida and rates are a lot higher.

Given the newer style of design which prioritizes safety via crumple zones and that it's a unibody, it's extremely easy to total. Given the higher cost of vehicle (compared to the cheaper '22s and '23s), it probably amortizes as a medium-high cost vehicle.

What I do. Know is State Farm and all most all insurance companies raised their rates by 20%. I did get a quote. from Progressive that is less than what you posted. You may want to check there.

I'm in Southeast Michigan. We are super high here, but I pay about $155/month as only car bundled with home insurance.

Here in CA the insurance companies have been hit pretty hard with state mandates and claims from the recent fires. State Farm just raised my 6-mo premium to $564. That actually becomes about $0.35 a mile for me, dwarfing the >$5/gal cost of fuel.

I'm at $402/6mo with $1k comp & coll deductibles. Kansas, 49 male, no points and no claims... and NO DISCOUNT from insurance spyware marketed as a 'safe driver discount'. (do not ever install the mobile app for any insurance company, use the website.) I do have a homeowner's policy with them as well which is a large discount on both policies.

I saw a few replies where people still have extremely low deductibles and I would suggest they price out raising them if they're interested in significantly lowering their premiums.

State Farm at least, has made it where raising your deductible has minimal impact on premium.

Raising my Comprehensive/Glass deductible from $100 to $1000 would save me $5/month.
(I've already used it once to replace a cracked Windshield for $100.)

Raising my Collision deductible from $500 to $1000/$2000 would save $3/$7 a month.

it's probably due to average repair costs getting sky-high so the odds of doing something small that would fit in the gap between your minimum and maximum deductibles is fairly low.

I actually do have State Farm and I quoted $500, $750, $1000 and $2000 deductibles. $500 was more than $15 per month, 750 was about $10 more per month and 2000 would reduce by 6 bucks a month.

my rate is low enough that $15/month is statistically significant, it would be a 22% increase. it certainly could be different based on your state, claim history, etc. regardless of what someone chooses, it's good to quote and then make informed decisions.

Sorry, forgot to mention that these numbers are based on monthly payments.
Seems high. I pay less than $1200 a year but no marks against me and I live North of Niagara Falls in a suburb/ag area. However, if you're near Houston, those rates are not surprising. Keep in mind the vehicles you currently have can both be totaled for less than the Maverick. Houston and Orlando are 2 of my least favorite places to drive and both enjoy high rates. (sorry, enjoy might not be the right verbiage)
