Just posting in case anyone else is experiencing issues with their throttle body/power train. A few weeks ago I had used auto start to warm my Mav up. I came out later to it barely running and puttering. I put the key in and it revved up to 5000 rpm’s without me touching the gas. It wouldn’t come out of first and then started throwing warnings that the throttle body was stuck. I called Ford and they couldn’t get me in until February (it was end of November). After getting pissy because I have no other vehicle and can’t afford a rental, they magically found me an appt for a week later. The warning went away and everything was fine, but I kept the appt just in case, and good thing. The day before my appt I was thinking I should call to cancel. They said they wouldn’t touch it unless there were still warnings and it was acting fine. That morning we got a good bit of snow. It was running fine but I put it in slippery mode (first time ever using it) and immediately heard a thunk. After that it was toast. It wouldn’t come out of first, was screaming warnings about the throttle body and power train. Ended up towing it to Ford. They thought it was a transmission issues but Ford wanted them to replace the throttle body first. It’s been almost 2 weeks. They just got the throttle body replaced yesterday and of course, that’s not it. Now Ford is shipping up a new transmission. They assume it’s something internal and it wasn’t built correctly. I’m happy with the response. They got me an enterprise rental quickly after refusing to give me a loaner, but then realizing how bad the issue was. Today they moved me into a new Bronco from them. Hoping to get my Mav back in a couple weeks and praying that’s the only issue with it. Just wanted to give y’all a heads up if you’re getting similar warnings. It only has 9k miles on it but I’m surprised this didn’t show up sooner.
