The thread is discussing transmission reliability, and potential issues for both powertrains in the maverick. All I said is the e-cvt has a pretty proven and reliable transmission, as we're discussing differences between the two.
The thread was focusing on potential issues of the 8 speed paired with the ecoboost, there was no discussion of differences. you made a pointless point completely irrelevant to actual discussion in this thread.

There's nothing to imply in the original post, nor the title of the thread, that this discussion is meant to be exclusive to ecoboost mavericks. It's a discussion pertaining to the longevity, or lack thereof with maverick transmissions, hybrid or Ecoboost. A collection of viewpoints, opinions, and data pertaining to both powertrains, as well as statements regarding frequent failure points, and possible fixes. I merely stated my observations and findings regarding the reliability of the transmission in the maverick hybrid. Sorry to have offended you friend.

The only indication of which trans might be involved was the fact of shows EB as at least one of his mavericks. Some post about the other version occasionally than the one shown so it's always a shit in dark what is being asked about unless op states in his post

Exactly, I assumed it was Ecoboost specific, but I saw some hybrid owners chiming in on their experience. Hence why I commented, but hey, no big deal. I can tell the other guys don't really want me here, so I'm just gonna peace out.

On a side note, I know it was a typo, but shit in the dark has become one of my new favorite expressions for trying to navigate the complexities of life šŸ˜†.

Yup. Mine failed at 200 miles, had it for 3 days. Whining noise at 40mph that followed speed during decel....

Dealership retook possession of the truck and put me in another one. I have a thread with video of the problem

My complaint with the transmission is it always wants to go into the highest gear which causes lugging. Updates have made the issue better but still undesirable. I think it is part and parcel of the f835 transmission with 4K tow.

Transmission completely went out on me yesterday on the drive home. 7400 miles, and I drive it very gently. One loud clunk and that was it, trans completely disengaged, and I got an array of AWD failure warnings. Luckily was able to coast to a nearby parking lot and out of the road, but couldn't get it to ever re-engage at all. Is with the dealership currently being diagnosed ...

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

So the dealership followed up with me yesterday and it was a speed sensor failure. I guess if a sensor goes out and the trans can't tell what the wheels are doing it completely disables itself to avoid any driveline damage. I was told it's under warranty and should be fixed early next week.

Best possible outcome! Definitely thought it would be MUCH worse based on how it felt in the truck when it happened.

Another follow up from the dealership and the replaced sensor did NOT fix the problem ... so the engineer is digging back into it bc they have no idea what's actually causing the error now. Back to square one.

I’m having transmission issues on my 2022 Ecoboost. It’s going in for warranty inspection on Tuesday. Just 1500 miles shy of the 60k Powertrain Warranty. Grinding bad on up shift into 2nd gear accompanied by a very noticeable jump. It’s gotten worse while I’ve waited for my booked appointment. Previously it wasn’t being this way coming out of Auto Stop but now it is. It’ll be interesting to see how much they make me fight them on this. I’ve beat Nissan in arbitration on a lemon previously so they’d be fighting the wrong guy.

I had a 2021 Bronco Sport Big Bend. Around 16k miles the transmission started leaking. Drove fine otherwise. Took it to the dealer and they would never tell me what was wrong, other than it was pushing fluid out of the overflow at the top of the transmission. They put a brand new transmission in.

I sold that and got my Maverick Tremor. I’ve had some funky shifts and I can smell some kind of fluid (can’t tell if it’s trans fluid or gear oil). I took it to the dealer and they said no issues, but they did update it with a TSB that was related to rough shifting. I also had them replace the trans fluid because I’ve seen multiple people reporting trans failure and the dealer stating that the trans fluid was low with no leaks.

Seems to be fine, but I can still smell fluid after I drive the truck for 10-15 mins. Hoping this trans doesn’t go the same way as the Bronco Sport.

Leveling the fluid is kind of messy on the underside. There's likely some that spilled on a hose or the frame. I obviously have had no experience doing this at all. 🤐

You can also check the vent near the top left side of the air box. There might have been some that spilled there.
