Threw in the towel yesterday. Done. My deposit is in the mail coming to me. May get an Edge ST Line or maybe I'll see some of you over on the Toyota Rav4 forum! Bye bye, friends!
Willing to conclude Fleet orders will take #1 priority since they can be done in batches. Ford will wait until they "beef up" their production team in July with rookies before starting to work on the bulk of Retail orders. Just a conclusion based on recent information and my opinion.
Heck, given your circumstances already having a Gas Maverick, maybe let the Hybrid order ride into 2024. You could keep both once the Hybrid is delivered, or sell the Gas Maverick and keep the other. Sounds like you want a Hybrid anyway and don't want the other?
Anyone else wanna bail because they don't want to be stuck owning an EB produced by a bunch of rookie production line workers in July, given Ford's quality assurance problems as is?
Rav4. Bob, you're giving Ford too much credit! I'm starting to think Ford is using the Hybrid buyers as beta testers and giving fleet orders priority over the lowly consumer.
I know it's "only" been 6 months since my order was confirmed, but I'm once again finding myself becoming impatient with Ford. I have no brand loyalty to Ford, mostly due to past reliability issues. I can count on one hand how many Toyotas I saw broke down on the highway in the past 20 years...
I wouldn't mind getting any of the following 2023 models if the Maverick VIN doesn't show up by April: Ford Edge ST Line, F-150, or another Toyota Corolla or a Rav...or nothing. My 2015 Corolla only has 35K miles on it. I WFH and don't drive that much. Randumb thoughts...
Ford can't afford to lose fleet orders; they'd rather disappoint a consumer or two. They care less if they lose a few of us, but a few fleet orders would have a greater negative impact to their bottom line. That's my two cents trying to find logic in Ford's actions.
