Just to follow up again, I made an official buyback request with Ford. The rep was responsive and emailed me the necessary paperwork, which I returned same day. Fingers crossed on the buyback.

Not sure if anyone is still following this saga, but Ford did offer a buyback today. I’m supposed to hear from the buyback specialist in 3-5 days.

Good for you. I hope they offer a reasonable amount. I am somewhat surprised that they are offering a buyback.

In the interest of closure and hopefully being helpful, this saga is about over. After supplying all the necessary paperwork, I did receive my buyback offer yesterday and accepted it. The truck never left the dealer, so no turn-in process required.

Despite my disappointment, it’s fair to say Ford handled the situation professionally and, once we got to the buyback stage, it moved pretty quickly.

Perfectly sized vehicle for my needs and I looked forward to driving it into the ground. Maybe I’ll be able to get my head around buying another one. We shall see.

Hey, thank you for that data point. Appears you are correct and the salesman was full of it. I’m going to edit my post so as not to spread misinformation.
