Yup I had to cancel my original order. Never planned on towing that much, but decide to add it. Before I could call, I got a VIN and schedule date. I was shocked it only took 1 day.

I'm not sure you have a good understanding about towing or the Maverick equipment. Maybe you should reconsider towing.

On the Maverick I believe the tow package includes a brake controller, larger radiator, transmission cooler and different trans gearing. Don't think you can add a "tow package" and get the same kind of engine/trans protection as a factory 4k tow package. You may want to think about trading in if you must tow up to 4k pounds.

If you choose the factory hitch option it comes with the 4 pin wiring and connector. From what I understand, if you don't choose the hitch option and want to add a hitch later you need to add a wiring harness for the trailer lights as there is no wiring present like on other makes and models.

I have the 2022 XL-FWD EB which pulls 2000lbs. Sufficient for my needs of hauling a 1500lb cargo trailer, and still gets 18mpg keeping speeds between 65-70mph.

However, I did a bad thing today...

...and ordered a '24 Maverick XLT with the 4K tow package. It's time to do the Maverick "Hurry Up and Wait!" dance.

You might be surprised that it won’t take as long as you think. Also I am seeing more 24 Lariat’s arrive at dealer lots only to be abandoned by the original orderer so I would recommend keeping a watch out for them if you want it sooner than later. Congrats on getting a newer one though!

if it had a 7 pin n built in controller I’d had something to go by it literally has nothing. That’s why I’m trying to figure out what the capacity is so I know what to buy. For it I was told it could tow 4k when I bought it but nothing. Anywhere says that.

Thanks, guys! That's what I wanted to hear. I hadn't bothered to look under the truck, as I only used the hitch for my bed extender. But, now that I am VAGUELY considering a small trailer, I am concerned about the existence of the 4-pin electrical hookup.

My XLT AWD sticker clearly has the 4,000# towing capacity noted. And ID the gear ratio. Physically, it has the brake controller controls, similar to what I had in the old F250. Also has bigger receiver hitch, the 7-way trailer light /brakes plug in receptacle on the bumper. And when prompted , selection for “tow mode” on the dash display.

As for a transmission cooler, I haven’t look into that, cannot verify. It might be the exchanger built into the radiator, or maybe a separate inline air cooler of sorts.

Will I ever tow? Prob not. Only time would tell. But will be ready if and when a need to tow.

trailer hitch 2k. trailer hitch with the trailer brake controller built into the dash 4k. there you go easy way to tell what yours has. or you could have just called your dealer, given vin, then bobs your uncle and they would have told you.
