I decided on the truxedo sentry ct (through real truck email to Alex, 20% discount was unexpected!). In messaging with a truxedo rep, sounds like they are just a few weeks out.

Although I was initially wary of the Velcro, I think it will be a solid seal. My only prior experience with Velcro was on a used Ridgeline where it was coming undone at the seams. But that was a soft roll up, and since this is fixed to the hard slats I don't see that becoming an issue.

I watched a comparison video with the bak x4s and also liked that the sentry is significantly easier to remove if needed.
Do you have a link to that video?

I guess maybe there isn't one? My bad, I just watched several of the install and review videos for both of them on YouTube.

The sentry uses a slot and slider type mechanism which will be easy to access with the low bed in the Maverick. I believe the x4s is secured with a slot and several bolts that need to be tightened.

Heh I’ll probably try to go through a lot of the videos. This is my first truck so I’m debating if I want to wait until I get it and see a bunch of comparisons from actual Mavericks a few months from now or hop on the discount train and hopefully avoid stock issues by getting one sooner. I’m leaning towards just waiting and being patient to make an informed decision later even if I have to pay a little more or wait a little longer. I probably don’t need it right out of the gate like others who know from previous experience what fits their needs already.

I ordered hard roll up for my XLT hybrid order. Also in Ontario, Canada. Have no previous experience with them but they offer better visibility when the bed is fully opened compared to the tri-fold. Plus that factory price is a steal here in Canada. Was tempted to take it off when tonneau orders weren’t getting pulled but glad I didn’t seeing as OKTB for hybrids is a whiles away.

I'm leaning toward the X4s also. I have a quad-fold one that's been on my Silverado now for the about the last 15 years. It's a Fold-a-Cover that opens at the front and back which is nice for access. Although the weather seals have gone in the hinges (I weather stripped them underneath where they fit together now), the cover itself is still in good condition - mainly for security and secrecy over leaks anyway here in SoCal. I am wondering how long the vinyl covering on the X4s will last and the smaller 4.5ft tri-fold would probably be less awkward to fold with only one person. Great, now I'm talking myself back into a tri-fold. Probably will last longer. 🤔

Anyone like to share pros and cons with a hard roll-up and a hard trip-fold tonneau cover. I originally ordered the hard roll-up but deleted it because of constraints. Now I'm either going with one or the other probably dealer installed, but now I don't know which is better? Any help would be appreciated.

Here's some pictures of the tri-fold tonneau cover. The salesman said there were 6 bolts that hold it on. It appears to keep the rain out. When the tailgate is locked, you can't get under the cover. There's latches when it's folded up to keep it from flopping around if it's open and you're driving. I tried to take pictures of the things I spoke about.

Does it have any drain hose for water looks good?

I didn't notice drain holes on the trainer version I seen and I specifically looked. But I would like a response to this question as well. Because I personally don't want to drill holes which is just one of the reason I went with the hard roll-up. Not to mention these 3 part folds will fully cover the rear glass.

It really seems to me that the very few times that the tri fold top covers the rear window that the exterior mirrors and the rear view camera would do the job.

My truxedo sentry ct is coming from real truck on Friday! Excited to get that installed, thought it might be longer before it arrives.

Yes if you think about it, you are probably right. Seems the BakFlip MX4 is in stock on BakFlip's web site. Free Shipping. Apparently the Maverick already has the drain holes, so no drilling required. Which is one of the reasons I didn't go with the BakFlip.

I ended up canceling my order for the Revolver and opted to go with the BakFlip. I didn't want to wait another month and half for the Revolver release and I think functionally I like the Flip better too because it closes like a trunk.
