Here is my video showing how easy it is to install the roll-up. Most important reason is you can still see out the rear window.

Good video, thanks! The detail was very helpful!

Wow, thanks for the thanks Jeannette! I have a bunch of videos that can help you. I got tired of the channels that point at features and take a test drive on a Mav they do not own and don't really know the details. Or they use click bait to speculate about what Ford will do while making you stare at them most of the video.

I hope I earn your referrals.

Boy, I really like those covers! You’ve now thrown me a curve ball with all the different finishes available 😱 Which finish did you go with and are you happy with it? Which site did you buy it on?
I bought it directly from Lomax. I believe they are part of a company called Agricover.
I did Black Diamond Mist. Excellent cover, easy install. They are built to order. Took maybe 10 days from order to delivery. They had the best price and I prefer to deal directly with manufacturer where possible in case there are any issues.

I went with roll up. Cheaper and no lose of visibility. I would never drive without rear view mirror. You lose situational awareness which is especially needed when hauling large items.

Is that the matte finish and do you like it?
I guess it has a matte finish. It has a black canvas top cover (not shiny). I think it looks better than the vinyl cover. It is also very tough. I don't think it costs any more either. Also, I think the canvas is over a vinyl underlayer. Anyhow, it is pretty water resistant.

I considered this one until I realized you had to stick mounting points to the roof. No thanks.

I highly recommend the hard roll up but not the Ford brand, get an after market one. The velvet in the underside of it has come off and is dangling because of the Texas heat. I need to apply better glue. Good thing I bought it when it was on sale but I still paid way more than I would've paid for an equal one of aftermarket value. Unfortunately there weren't any aftermarket ones in early 2022 but no complain, as it has come in handy for mostly keeping everything semi dry/dry.

I am also 5"1 and its really convenient to have the pull tab by the trunk and the clips snap it in place to hold it and it also snaps into place when folding back down. You get about 1/3 of visibility from the back window and the downside is that you either roll it all up or not vs. the folding one you can do 2/3 fold. It depends on the user, for my use its either or. Best of luck and keep us posted on what you decide. I love to see all the different styles/designs people have with their Mavericks.

I got the BAKFlip MX4. My friend got a roll up for his 2023. I did not want to lose space in the bed for the canister. The Bakflip can fold up against the back window giving you ALMOST all your bed. You can't see out of you back window but if you are putting something that big in your bed, chances are you can see anything anyway.

I got the BakFLIP
1. It's strong can hold 400 lbs. Haven't tried that but I will take their word it's sturdy.
2. Flush with the bed to eliminate wind noise and rattles.
3. Can fold up against the back window allowing almost complete access to the bed.
4. Haven't had any leak issues so it allows me to use my bed like a trunk when needed.
5. It has a LONG warranty.

Can someone break in? yes but it's probably going to be difficult and noisy.

I currently have the trifold cover on my 22 but those pull down latches are a real pain for a petite woman so I want an easier to open cover for my 23 which should arrive in the next 6 weeks. I can’t decide between the BAK/REV trifold and the roll-up so I’m hoping to get some helpful feedback from MTC members (or the wives) 🤞🏻

I’m pretty sure both have the wire pull to latch and unlatch the cover at the tailgate which I’m hoping will be easier. Otherwise I probably need to start lifting heavy weights before my 23 arrives!

I have the Wether Tect roll up on my 23. Easy install tight dry fit easy roll up easy tighten and it does have a string pull to open.

I have the Bak X4R hard rollup cover. Love it. Easy install; easy to use, sturdy and almost zero water intrusion (which I will solve with some weatherstripping around the tailgate this weekend).

Baby Bluz got a new bonnet!

After returning the 71 lb Bak mx4 hard cover and talking with the RealTruck Sales guy I decided the soft trifold Extang Trifecta ALX was my best option. Then I found out my Dealer could order it for me (full retail price) and I could use my rewards points that I got buying the 23 Maverick! So my cover cost me $139, gotta love it!

It came in yesterday so I picked it up and installed it this AM. It is such a tight fit, easy install and easy unlatch! The Ford trifold on my 22 always bugged me with the bulges on the sides and the difficult latches at the tailgate that weren’t accessible if the bed was packed. I’m really liking this one and will be very surprised if it leaks.

I went with a Truxedo ProX15 - soft roll up over a trifold or hard cover type.
Mainly for ease of opening since I don't plan to keep anything valuable in the bed and didn't want to deal with the bulkiness. It was definitely cheaper and takes up less space when fully opened. It locks with the tailgate and there is just a latch level to pull and you can roll it up.

Pros and cons with either but needs to fit your life and style.
