I’m not really saying I’m losing interest but I will say it’s getting embarrassing. People keep asking me if I have it yet and they pretty much laugh or shake their head. Ford is becoming a never ending joke.
I get the same reaction from my friends. They all say it's ridiculous.
I dropped by a local Ford dealer today just to ask if they were getting Mavs and the salesman said no and if any did come in they were sold within days, no surprise there. So I asked him how the Bronco Sports are doing and he said pretty good. I said that's kind of surprising since they are both built at the same plant. He was surprised, he didn't know that!!
He didn't know they are built in Mexico! That convinces me that we here know more than most salesman. That's sad!

HOLD!. . .I ordered oct 25th XLT Hybrid Lux. Heard from dealer around Feb March asking if I wanted to drop Lux to get sooner. I said No. I followed up at beginning of May and dealer said I was scheduled for production. . .I waited until Jun 1 and contacted dealer they said showing built but not shipped. On Friday dealer said they had my truck.

So there you go. . . I sat in it Friday and it was worth the wait. The Lux was worth it and so was the hybrid. I'll get it next week crazy excited.

The wait is hard but a sweet ride and worth it. There is nothing like the Maverick on the road.
Oh this really pisses me off because I ordered the same in August. No schedule date.

This is the reason I quit contacting Ford CS and my dealer about my order status. Tired of the frustration. I actually believed that Ford was going to start building trucks based on order dates like they said. Practically every day on this site I read of people receiving their “constrained “ xlt lux hybrids who ordered much later than my July order. Finally decided it wasn’t worth worrying about. Still looking forward to getting the Maverick but have given up any expectation of seeing it anytime soon.

Ordered in december 2021. Still excited. Nothing else out there new fits my needs at the price this thing is at. I sat in one, its waaay bigger than the 2008 Chevy HHR I am driving now. I check my emails daily, have not lost the excitement one bit. I even have a small collection of goodies going right on as soon as i get it home.
'Cuda, that's the way to do it. I haven't always been able to afford to order a new vehicle, but eventually I realized that in the long run it costs less than buying used every few years (especially now with the crazy pricing on used vehicles).
The key to it, though, is knowing what you want. If you buy anything new, and then after a few years decide that you don't like it, bored with it, or fascinated with someone else's new vehicle/TV/iPhone/house/camper whatever.... you lose in the end. I had my F150 Super Crew for 15 years, then sold it to my son in law to pay the taxes on my 2016 Expedition, which I plan on having until 2030.
And that's why it's best to order them, so you don't "settle" for the color or trim or options that were on the lot. Get what you want, suck it up and get it paid off and then keep it!
By the way, I had an HHR beater for a couple of years. Not a bad commuter car - FWD, good stereo, comfortable heated seat. I hated the "chopped" profile and the resulting poor sight lines. Felt like I was sitting under the dining room table trying to see around the chairs!!

Yep, buy what you want, trim level, color etc. My mav on order is a silver XLT AWD with 4K tow, full size spare, and power inverter in the cab. That's it. I ordered exactly what I wanted, and will likely keep this a long time too.

As far as my screen name goes, I am a 1960s and early 1970s mopar muscle car guy. Was into 68-70 dodge chargers for years restoring and driving them until I got married, got kids etc. Then later on wanted another charger to restore. Found out they were unobtainable by the common man. I wasnt into paying $3,500 for a gutted shell with a Vin# and a title making it into an expensive jigsaw puzzle/scavenger hunt.

A buddy had a 67 cuda coupe I picked up and started on. Body done, started working on the drivetrain. Then found a 69 cuda coupe jigsaw puzzle/scavenger hunt special with a vin and title for $300, and put mine on the backburner.

my son and I are restoring the 69 for him. The cool part is even with modern upgrades i insisted on like electronic ignition, 4 wheel disc brakes, and overdrive transmission, the rest we looked through a 69 plymouth brochure, and he picked what he liked options wise and color inside and out. That's how it's getting built. I cant take a time machine back to 1969, but I can replicate that in a tribute 1969 'Cuda 340-S, and made a "new" 69 cuda.

Nice stuff. I have noticed on classic car sites that some of the old, tamer Cuda's are not priced that badly. I mean, nicely restored or survivors for $12k to $15k. Best MOPAR I ever had was a 73 Ply Satellite wagon. 318. Floated down the road. Damn I wish I had that now.
My last? a Stratus that blew a head gasket at 34,000 miles, and was told by three different dealers, "yeah, they tend to do that". Yikes.

If you filled out the order with the dealer, the MSRP is locked in for you.
I signed, they didn't even though it was their "deal/stationary..etc. Most dealers have been honoring the agreement although I've heard of a few backing off (crawfishing) and padding the price. Also to make it more interesting, the dealership was sold to another local Ford dealer. I'll just sit back and see what shakes out!

My local dealer had a FWD XL EB with no other options. 2,400 miles on it. I stopped to look. Sales guy said its $40,000 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I told him, I guess you are not planning on selling it then. He mentioned something about being the only game in town. Again I laughed🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I told him I ordered an XLT AWD 4K in Iowa for $3000 off MSRP and they would also take $500 off for my Texas Farm Bureau membership. He said well how are you gonna get up there to get it. That's a long drive time. I laughed again 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 told him I work for an Airline. I only have to get a lift to the airport 10 miles away. Moral of the story, I will wait with a smile.

People are weird. 🤓

I'd worry about an adult who stayed excited about a pick-up truck they had on order for months.
Why would you even expect to "be excited" for weeks on end?

Excited when you first heard about the Maverick? Yes.

Excited when you go to pick it up? Sure.

In between? Meh.

I agree. I am excited, but not like over the top about it. I will be over the top when the dealer says it's there. Last new car I bought was 14 years ago so ya, I'm happy.

A good friend of mine has had an F250 Superduty on order since October of last year. His new job is all pickups and he rolls into the lot in a hybrid fusion. His car is literally the only non pickup on the lot haha (50+ cars). We joke about who's truck is coming in first (if ever).

I treat it (scheduling) like the lottery now. I don't expect to win, but it's fun to dream.

Could be generational, too. I'm in my 50s. When I was a a kid you'd order something from a paper catalog (that itself you might have mailed away for 6-8 weeks ago) and then wait weeks or months for your item to arrive. Younger consumers are used to a click-to-buy/next day delivery reality. Nothing wrong with that. But I'm just saying, some of us have patience in our DNA.
