If We think waiting is tough… Santa Cruz owner has had multiple issues with every warning light coming on all at once, a warning for the engine control system and a full system check warning in under 1400 miles. Owner sez dealer suggest vehicle may be unsafe to drive until further review by Hyundai… This is not the only issues I have read about w/SC but they are most disturbing

Where's the link to what you've been reading?

Not a non-believer, just like a source if/when I can get one.

I won’t judge the santa cruz just yet—-wait until the issues began being documented for the maverick. ….I’m a realist.

I have been to both Colombia (1 time) and Brazil - 6 times... and there are Hyundai vehicles very similar to this Santa Cruz "all over the place"... how in the world could Hyundai "not get this right" after sooooo many variations built and deployed, for years, in those countries? Albeit that 3rd world status may not be their prime market... it still should have been the testing ground for any sort of issues. And as I complete my thoughts here... perhaps it has to do with USA standards for safety and or environmental matters and the technology in these USA Santa Cruz vehicles?

Other issues encountered so far were build quality related, things not hooked up right on ventilated seats on one side for example. Then again, the Escape also had a ton of teething issues on its launch, even made the list for Consumer Reports "worst used vehicles of all time" for 2020 model year.

Our current vehicle is a first model year truck, and its been really reliable, but with COVID changing normal BAU processes, I'm a bit more worried about brand new 2022 models.
