Did you take the front wheel off when checking the level for the ATF? I'm about to do that same thing and I'm toying with the idea of just turning the wheel out of the way to get to the level plug.
I went with 80% ceramic on all glass. It added almost no "tinting" to the vehicle and you can't tell it was tinted at all. The Ceramic I got was LLumar Air 80, which does a good job at cutting the IR coming in (heat) and eliminates all the UV. I'm very happy with it.
One thing to note is...
I'm hoping that keeping the contrast in "darkness" keeps the cops at bay. That's why I like the idea of 50% all around so the back looked much darker than front and that would create the illusion of legal levels. I'm glad to hear about the windshield being barely noticeable. Thanks for the reply!
Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but your specs and brand are exactly what I'm planning to do on my Mav soon. Any issues with this config? Tickets?
How's the heat rejection now that you've gone through a summer with it?
It's been said already, but foam cannons add steps, not eliminate them. They are "pre-wash", in that they get the big grit off your paint before you scrub so you don't grind it into the finish. I have a foam cannon and pressure washer. I love the setup.
1. Foam cannon and 5 minute soak...
I agree that for "right now" we have enough power, but by 2045 California power generation will look much, much different. ~60% of current power is generated by fossil fuels and nuclear, both of which will be gone by 2045. That needs to be replaced, and expanded upon, by renewal energy...
I could see the USPS using these as local delivery vehicles to replace the ancient Grummans. Not sure the range would be sufficient but it looks like that type of vehicle to me.
Search button is your friend, but I'll tell you mine anyway.
1. TuxMat floor mats for front and back. Love them.
2. Roll up hard Tonneau cover. (BAK Revolver)
3. Modified super bumper in the hitch receiver for low speed rear ends.
4. "clean side" catch can
You mentioned 3k RPM as good strong acceleration. That's what I've experienced as well. That is peak torque on the 2.0EB (277 ft-lb at 3k RPM is on the spec sheet for 2022). Also the best spot to be in for power/efficiency balance.
I just had a thought. On the cluster is a mode in which...
A fair point. That was my interpretation of "briskly" which was subjective on my part. I would consider my "smooth" to be what you described as being in the ideal range of the power band. I was taught that the ideal operating point for an engine was at peak torque RPM.
But premium gas cost 20-30% more so a 10% fuel economy Is not cost effective.
I hope it's not 20% more in your area. At my Costco, 91 is, on average, ~7% more than 87.
($4.50 - $4.20) / $4.20 *100 = 7.1 %
I myself don't see a 10% increase in MPG, but I do know the computer will retard the...
If your goal is pure MPG savings, driving slower will beat any mod out there. If you already drive slow, unnecessary weight does help, but not by much unless you're dropping hundreds of pounds.
I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it already, but new tune could help as well...
I have a '22 FX4 AWD Lariat. It is very comfortable and the ride is as good as my wife's CRV. It drives almost as well as my '19 Fusion did. I love it.
