so there was a member on here that bought the top lariat maverick drove it for 7 days and sold it went back to honda as he said was too noisey - which to me says a lot for him... I myself have been waiting for ford/gm, etc... to bring back this size of mini truck (I've had several s10/s15/sonoma/early rangers in both rear wheel and 4 wheel drive from regular to extended cabs) that i love my new maverick great size/great price/great fuel economy and in my opinion best vehicle for the money but that shows my opinion is financially motivated with upfront cost and fuel throughout ownership. i also love this club showing all the people customizing and aftermarket companies bringing out more stuff each day (not with honda) - but again it's your money your decision and yes honda makes a very nice durable vehicle only you can pay for it.

I had a 2010 Ridgeline and now a Maverick. If price is not a factor, go get the Honda!

Sorry, but no comparaison, the list is too long…

The only logic to go with Ford is if you choose the base XL 2.0 eco boost AWD. *don’t get fooled in adding accessories, the cheap model is the best investment!

And I suppose that your not in the Hybrid cause you are comparing the Ford Maverick to a Honda Ridgeline that has ONLY AWD option.

21 Bronco Sport to Maverick?
I have been very hot on the Mav since last summer. However, issues like no options for Navi, rear window defroster, homelink and some other options started to diminish my desire for the Mav bigtime. Then seeing typical 1st year issues with the Mav further pushed me down the ladder. (and I am a Ford guy, so I have no issues buying a Ford whatsoever) After riding the Ridgeline (smooth and quiet), and the fantastic versatility of the 2-way bed gate and in floor truck were big time pluses that the Mav can not offer. The AWD system on the Ridgeline is probably one of the better systems you can get. I found one just off the delivery truck and picked it up. I figure, I will wait a year or two, hopefully the bugs get worked out on the Mav and should be able to easily trade into the Mav straight up with a 2 year old Ridgeline. And yes, gas mileage will not be close to the Mav but I definitely wanted 4WD, so the hybrid not even an option for me but hopefully Ford will correct that on future models.

I thought about a Ranger (my 1st choice actually) but the gas not much better than the Ridgeline and would spend more money for an equally equipped Ranger compared to the Ridgeline. A loaded up Ranger is over $45K and still dont get the versatility of the truck bed.

Good Luck.

I was initially set on the Maverick because I thought I'd get a new car, hybrid, at $22k when it debuted. My current order is a EB AWD XL Tow coming in at $27k, I'd add new wheels so I'm at $28k . I've been telling myself by the time the Mav arrives I'll see if I can get a Ridgeline RTL for $38k, if so I'll probably hop on that for the extra bed space and more room for the family. The RL shallow bed has me nervous though if I want to run a tonneau

I have been riding the Maverick of a year now. Good truck good price. But you can definitely feel that the Maverick is a low budget truck in the Ford lineup and that the Ridgeline is the highest quality vehicule at Honda. For that point, there is no comparable between the two. But you are right, I also prefer the bigger bed of the Mav. One thing is sure, give me the extra budget for the Ridgeline and you can bet I would go back with Honda. Don’t get fool, the Mav is stil ok BUT, don’t play the game of comparables, cause this little truck will lose all quality aspects to the Ridgeline beside the price.

If you can wait, I'd encourage you to check out the all new Colorado, Ranger, and Tacoma - all arriving this calendar year. They're in the Ridgeline market segment. Nobody can speak for them because nobody has driven them, but they're certainly gonna have all the new safety and tech bells and whistles. The auto journalists are hinting that the Colorado first drive reviews are coming in a week or so.

I suspect all three will have hybrid options. I don't know that, but there have been lots of hints.

FWIW, if you do a search on Ridgeline, there's at least one former owner talking about this choice.

It obviously has not impacted their demand but I do see a handful of buyers who were brought in by the promise of a <$25k truck but ultimately have been turned off for one reason or the other (quality, wait, lack of options for the price tag) and have turned to other vehicles.

I was in the - I want a $22k hybrid truck bucket - and Ford squashed that dream and my 2 door bronco - which were to be a pair.

Now I'm waiting for a Tremor that comes in at $34,800 before X-Plan - but you can get into full size SIlverados and F150s for $45k right now.

I know $10k is a big jump - but I would have bever looked at a full size truck had Ford not walked me up the ladder by opening the door with the Maverick.

I didn't read through all the post so if this was said ignore it. The MPG is 18 city 24 highway for ridgeline Maverick AWD 22 city 29 highway. Many here say they can get 30 on highway easy. Why are people saying MPG is about the same . There not.. I would get a Tacoma if I wanted a bigger truck.

Prior to my buying and finally getting an XL Hybrid, the Ridgeline was my first vehicle of choice. I loved t he first gen and really like the second gen. However, if it a larger vehicle and there is a fuel mileage penalty. But, the Honda is a more premium vehicle.

I love my XL Hybrid. But it is built to a lower price point.( 22K out the door) I knew that going into it so it doesn’t bother me. The Ridgeline is a much nicer vehicle inside and out.

For me, I went for the Ridgeline and haven’t looked back. Everyone who knows me said I made the right choice.

I originally ordered a Maverick (hybrid, lariat) back in the fall of 2021. I wasn’t any closer to getting now as I was then. A Ridgeline came available, it was in my price range and bought it.

I had a Santa Fe that I traded in. I found a website that allowed me to compare the gas mileage. For the Ridgeline it was going to be the same as my Santa Fe. This said, last weekend I went on a few drives (50 miles one way) and averaged 30 mpg with my Ridgeline. In town I’ve been getting 17.

Best advice overall—go with your gut!! It won’t let you down. Whichever way you choose, I really hope you enjoy it.

I’ve owned both and it’s absolutely a no brainer. The Ridgeline has had very few refreshes and its current, soon to be released update, hasn’t addressed many of its shortcomings, surrounding the abysmal gas mileage, horrible turning radius, dated infotainment system, and market leading price tag! Maverick for the win!

I have a family member with a Ridgeline and I've only seen and sat in a Maverick as mine hasn't come in yet.

If the mpg is about the same as your going Ecoboost with AWD and you don't really care about the 9k,I would say the Ridgeline is a step above in all areas including the way everything looks and feels. You can tell it's a more expensive vehicle.

That said, I am getting the hybrid Maverick because of the mileage and I do care about the 9k. However, I'm not fooling myself into thinking it is comparable to the Ridgeline. For what matters to me though, it is better.
Well said.

The MPG difference between the Maverick and Ridgeline are actually somewhat significant (21 vs 25 combined). The Ridgeline is likely to cost you $250-450 more per year in fuel. Worth considering if the costs are important to you.

Just wanted to comment that:

Google maps will do the same as Built in Nav when you download offline maps to use with GPS satellites only.

Rear window defroster I've found unnecessary as mine has never frosted over even when the Windshield has.

You can add this for $35 to your garage door and you don't even need a Garage door remote, as you use voice controls through your iPhone to open and close your garage door. Also you can always know the status of the Garage door and get reminders if it was left open or set it to shut after a certain time.
Smart Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener, Compatible with Apple HomeKit, Siri, Alexa & Google Assistant, Carplay, App Remote Control, Only Support 2.4GHz Networks - - Amazon.com
