Technically it is a "full size" tire on a regular size steel rim. What it's not is an "exact same sized tire" to the other 4. I plan on swapping a cheapie tire same size as the other 4 onto the "regular size" rim. I may be able to get it discounted with a partial trade of the one it comes with.
I will a real full size fit under the truck?

I imagine it would have to. If you had to put the spare on and your truck was loaded up, the damaged full size tire would have to be put back underneath.

Regular size "road wheel" (not a spare) will apparently not fit under the bed of the truck. Stowing the road wheel (i.e. the tires that come on the truck) is done in the bed of the truck (see picture). Check out pagers 351-352 of the owners manual.

That's mostly because you can't use the lowering cable with a stock wheel because of the center hole. It's possible to fit stock or even fairly oversized tire mounted on the spare steel wheel.

Here's a 245/65R17 on aftermarket wheel from this video. No mention of needing to modify the 'tire catcher' to fit either.

No matter what anyone says it is misleading at the least if not an outright lie. Most people would think that it is the same tire as the others on the truck.

Let me understand this.... I paid an extra $115 for a "full size spare" that is labeled: EMERGENCY USE ONLY. So, was Henry Ford's middle name really Barnum.??
Thanks, due to having to re-order a 23, I can take the full size spare off my build.

What is the rim width and diameter on the "full size" spare ? How does it compare to the standard XL rim?

Looks like all Mavericks come with two different spare tires:

1. a space saver spare tire, donut, or temporary tire, size T155/70D17
2. If you purchase a hybrid or pay extra for a so called "Full Size Spare" surprise, the size is 215/60R17 . This is not the same as the OEM tire/rim on any Maverick.

This information is shown on the Placard located on the driver side door jam.

Please note, the factory spare does not have a Ford OEM TPMS factory sensor.

If your looking for a true "Full Size Spare" size 225/65R17, we have 3 like new with delivery miles, factory OEM Maverick 17" Steel wheel / Continental tire combo. This wheel/tire combo comes with the Ford OEM TPMS factory sensor and will be immediately recognized by your vehicle. Buy one (1) Ford Maverick Wheel and Tire combo and you will get a FREE New Gentex Homelink Auto Dimming Mirror with Compass. Easy to install and looks factory OEM. No more using a separate remote/clicker to open 3 Garage Doors, Entry Gates, or activate Homelink compatible Light systems.

Size 17" x 7

I bought the full size spare because I didn't want to use a donut tire if towing and I have a flat.
The fact that the tire and rim doesn't match the rest of the wheels and tires is fine with me and I knew it didn't match before I made the order.

Uga the "full size" spare may be a 215 tire, but it's on a 17" rim. My question was, is the full size spare rim the same diameter and width as the stock XL rim. A 225 tire will fit in place of a 215 no problem. I am not interested in buying what you have for sale since I ordered the truck with a "full size" spare. Since it's also 17" diameter, I need to know what The RIM WIDTH of it is. If it's the same as the XL rims, I will just swap a larger diameter tire on what I have.

That type of scuffing is pretty common on pickup truck's undermounted spare tires. Not worth worrying about. just make sure it is snugged up against the frame so it is not moving around.
Exactly. The tire has to be tight enough that it isn't loose when it looses some air..... so it does indent the sidewall some. Vehicles are built at the lowest cost possible, so there are some compromises. The spare tire - something that may be used a few times in a vehicle's lifetime, is a place for compromise. Many vehicles don't even come with one. You get a tire pump, with a can of sealant (I buy these used on eBay to carry in my vehicles for trips, much faster to plug and air up a tire than to change to a spare).

I also carry a heavy duty NAPA plug kit in my daily driver. Easy enough to plug it up, then juice it up with sensor safe slime to fill it up.
