It doesn't hurt at all that it also has a big fat 200+ amp alternator.I can guarantee that a 2017 F-150 had a current monitoring system for adaptive charging.
Wow, mods! With everything that is said in this forum, a gif of the middle finger was too much? That's laughable. Well, since the gesture was too much for the sensitive folks, here ya go:...If you are having this type problem it is your fault that you haven't made Ford fix it.
My XL hybrid stopped going into deep sleep mode somewhere in the 5 recall software updates this year. Previously if not highway driven for 2 or 3 days, no interior lights. Had to trickle charge. Fingers crossed for this winter. For those of you that have replaced the 12 volt battery with a heavier duty battery trying to solve the deep sleep problem, what battery have you used and how effective was it?
I agree...winter season will be the true test.Fingers crossed for this winter.
Have had no issues with a ‘24 hybrid, even with parked for days during a cold snap.Well, I just picked up my ‘24 hybrid two days ago, and joined this group yesterday. I should have joined sooner, had no idea there were battery problems till I saw this post. I’ll start carrying my emergency jump battery and let you know if I have problems.
I got mine from O Reily's a super start battery , fit like OEM even has the hole for venting, so far so good it did make a difference. For those of you that have replaced the 12 volt battery with a heavier duty battery trying to solve the deep sleep problem, what battery have you used and how effective was it?
Brand and model pleaseI got mine from O Reily's a super start battery , fit like OEM even has the hole for venting, so far so good it did make a difference.
I got AC Delco AGM battery. Perfect fit. No problem with deep sleep since. For those of you that have replaced the 12 volt battery with a heavier duty battery trying to solve the deep sleep problem, what battery have you used and how effective was it?
I installed the same die-hard battery about 11 months ago.I've only had the Diehard Gold T4 battery installed for about 5 days now, which for my issue, really isn't enough time to tell if fixed the random dead battery.
But I discovered something tonight that I haven't encountered before. I got home from work around 2230 (yay shift work), exited the truck and locked it with the fob, just like I have done hundreds of times before. The dome light faded out and the instrument cluster went dark like normal. But then I noticed the USB LED light I have in the 12v socket in the dash was still on. And then I noticed the Blisslights laser USB light I have in the rear 12v socket was also still on. I thought maybe I never noticed that the 12v sockets stayed powered on a few seconds more than the rest of the interior. But then I went out 2 hours later and both sockets still had power. My truck has always shut off both sockets about the same time as the instrument panel. Something changed despite having the OTA updates disabled and have done none of the software related recalls or even visited a dealer. Needless to say, I unplugged both devices even though it's a single LED and a low power laser light. I don't want anything drawing power from the truck if I can help it.
Well that's not very encouragingI installed the same die-hard battery about 11 months ago.
My truck is starting to go into deep sleep again, which is right around the time the stock battery started doing it.
. I swear just when you think you have a problem solved with these trucks, they find a way to surprise you.
